Hey everyone, my name is Chase. Currently, I am a certification analyst with Boeing and, a student at UTSA pursing a double major in Business Analytics and Operations and Supply Chain Management. I am also a girl dad, husband, gamer, anime nerd, cat & dog foster parent, and lover of the outdoors.
I joined the United States Marine Corps right out of high school in 2010, where I spent five years traveling across the U.S. and the Eastern Pacific, learning to repair, modify, and maintain military helicopters. During this time, I also served as my squadron’s supply chain manager for about a year and a half. After leaving the military in August 2015, I worked at SpaceX as a test/maintenance technician on the Falcon 9’s first stage. Notably, I was part of the team that modified and tested the first Falcon 9 booster to successfully land.
Wanting to expand my career opportunities, I decided to pursue a college degree and obtain my airframe and powerplant license. Since SpaceX did not offer tuition assistance, I moved to San Antonio and joined Boeing, which did support further education. Although I eventually discovered that aircraft maintenance wasn’t my true passion, I developed a strong interest in analytics. Leveraging my experience with Boeing’s maintenance tracking systems and proficiency in Microsoft Excel, I transitioned to a role as a Manufacturing Operations Analyst in 2021, and currently work as a Certification Analyst. I am now in my final semester at UTSA, aiming to enhance my programming skills and pursue a career in data science.
I am just beginning to use R for data mining through school but have familiarity with other languages such as SAS and SQL. Also, I just recently started a certification track for a Associate Data Scientist in R through Data Camp.
