Introduction

    My name is Qiu Anyi from Zhejiang Provence,China.I am major in statistic at Zhejiang University.I’m a bit of an introvert and now try hard to figure out how to communicate with others in English fluently. For R, I don’t know much about it. During college, I mainly studied python and just learned some when completing my undergraduate thesis.

Why did you enrol in MAFS5310?

    My undergraduate major was mathematics, but my study was largely focused on theoretical studies. Therefore, I want to learn some real-world application of computer knowledge. Actually,I have tried to learn R on my own before, but because of my poor foundation in computer science (I have only learned little Python before), I always gave up after learning for a period of time. So I want to find an opportunity to learn R language systematically.

What do you expect to learn from MAFS5310 by the semester?

    I hope to learn some practical knowledge of financial math in R language and be able to complete data analysis more proficiently. If possible,I would be grateful if you could talk more about the application process of specific example in the class.
