Data Wrangling with R: Lab 2

My Introduction!

Hello! My name is Thi Nguyen. I’m a data enthusiast who loves to explore different aspects of data manipulation and data management. I grew up in Vietnam and moved to the U.S. for college in 2014. I’m currently living in Las Vegas, Nevada and I’m doing the MSIS program fully online.

Academic Background

• B.A. in Computer Science (University of Nevada, Las Vegas)
• B.S. in Information Management (University of Nevada, Las Vegas)

Professional Background

Currently I’m working as a Data Architect at Intermountain Health. My day-to-day work includes:

• overseeing multiple ETL processes, optimizing and debugging SQL codes when needed
  
• monitor database and job performance
  
• collaborate with Data Analytics team for maintaining and updating data warehouse

Experience with R

I only took one R class during my undergraduate years, so my experience with R is very minimal. A few things in T that I’m familiar with includes:

• basic variable assignments and computations
• simple charts and plots
• linear regression and distributions

Experience with Other Analytic Software

Prior to my current position, I worked as a Data Analyst, which was also my first job fresh out of college. Some analytic software I experienced during both college and my first job includes:

• Tableau (from undergraduate school)
• MicroStrategy - quite familiar with since I used it intensively for data visuzlization
• Microsoft Excel - often used for analysis and reports
