About Me
Hello my name is Derek. I am a 3rd year Business Analytics major with a minor in Finance. I am from Medina, Ohio and am 21 years old. In highschool I played basketball and ran track & field. I plan on interning with Indus next summer which is a data analytics company located in San Diego, California. Afterwards I hope to possibly get a job there and move to Florida.
Academic Background
- Earned my diploma at Medina High School
- Majoring in Data Analytics and minoring in Finance at the University Of Cincinnati
- Took a five month course on Power BI over the summer
Experience With R Programming and Other Programming Applications
I have no previous experience with R before taking this data mining class. However I am beginning to understand some of its features and how it can be useful. I do have experience in Power BI however. I am almost done with my 5 month course with it and am going to take my PL-300 exam when I am finished. Power BI seems to be more for creating visualizations where R seems to be more for creating and manipulating data. I am interested to see how they are both used in the real world.
