My name is Nikki Carfora and I am from Centerville, Ohio. I love to travel, hike, and spend time with my friends. On campus I am involved in the UC Climbing Club and am hoping to go to more sporting events this year. The above photo was taken on a trip with my parents to London in August!
I went to Indiana University for my first year, then transferred to UC because of the co-op program. Since then, I have been majoring in Business Analytics and Information Systems, with a Spanish Minor. I am planning to graduate in the summer or fall of 2025.
I currently have an on campus job with the Transition Advising Office. I help students navigate advising appointments regarding major changes, as well as assist with senior audits and nono-matriculated students. Outside of that, I have completed 3 co-op rotations at Delta Air Lines in the Operations and Customer Center. I work a lot with PowerAutomate and PowerApps to help the Emergency Management team remain prepared for anything. It has been incredibly interesting so far, and I am excited to return for a fourth rotation next summer.
I do not have a lot of experience with R, as I have only taken one class with it, which was mostly with data visualizations and things of that sort. I would like to become more proficient in it this semester.
I’ve used Excel and PowerBI for most of my analyses thus far. I’m in classes where I have to learn other programming languages, like Python, C#, and HTML, and am hoping that having a foundational understanding of each one will help me to learn the others.
