Hey there! My name is Evan Stull and since I’ve started my journey out on my own, I have been obsessed with data and statistics as well as making the daily experience at work and home easier and more automatic. I’m a numbers nerd, and this extends into my hobbies of football and fantasy where I actually prefer to watch the Bengals play from the comfort of my home because I can hear all of the statistics and develop an appreciation not only as a fan but as a commentator with a strategic eye. I play all sorts of games online and on the board with my friends. I joke when I say that these games all disguised Excel sheets with additional steps but its mostly true. A respected member goes through the army composition in one of my favorite games Europa Universalis 4 and talk about all the modifiers and reasoning behind the Infantry, cavalry, and cannon composition and how to adapt them as the time continues.
I currently work for Great American Insurance Group where I have been since I graduated back in 2021. I work within the P&C IT department and my current role is called a “Governance Specialist” where I support project managers and the portfolio by gathering data and providing help around ServiceNow. ServiceNow is the main platform that we use in conjunction with Rally to incorporate all of our data for our projects and labor and provide a consistent and valuable source of truth for executive decision making. I work closely with Resource Managers as well for labor variability and providing insight into what their workstreams are doing currently. I currently provide a lot of support with VBA cutting out manual tasks for our team, and have been tapped on the shoulder for Power BI for future endevours.
Luckily during my time at Xavier, I had to take class all about R, which was called Econometrics. In that class I learned all about producing statistics on a data set, and how to display that data properly for an audience. I had to take that information later and apply it to two research papers. My first research paper was on telecommuting to work, and the impacts that had on the labor market. My second was on Meat Offals and the how its trade was impacted during COVID-19.
I was fortunate to have your class where we went into JupterLab, so I have some experience with Python. I also had a class where we worked with databricks and SQL. Other than that, I’ve also used Stata during my undergrad for my data cleaning.
