Hi, my name is Tracy Nguyen. I’m currently a fourth year student double majoring in marketing and operations management. I’m a big foodie so i usually dine out 2-3 times a week and loves exploring new restaurants every month.
I attended Lakota West High School and started at UC in 2021. Initially, I was double majoring in Economics and Marketing, but in my second year, I switched to Operations Management. I realized that the skills in operations management are both valuable and highly in demand. Since I plan to own my own business in the future, learning operations management feels essential for successfully running a company.
I had the opportunity to intern at Isabella Lashes Co., a company that distributes lashes to major brands like Ardell. During their Cosmoprof season, I worked as a sales representative, traveling to Las Vegas to introduce new products, meet customers, build new relationships, and strengthen the existing customer base. It was an amazing experience where I learned a lot from successful business owners who run multi-million-dollar companies.
I’m not very skilled at coding and haven’t had much experience with it. I learned a bit of Python in my IS class during sophomore year, but R is completely new to me. As a beginner, I sometimes find it challenging to keep up with the class.
I was first introduced to coding through my IS class, where I learned the basics of Python. Before that, I had no prior experience with coding, so it was my first exposure to the world of programming. The class gave me a foundation in Python, and it sparked my interest in learning more, even though it was a bit challenging at first.
