Introduction to me

My name is Nathan Armstrong and I am a second-year Business Analytics Major at the University of Cincinnati. I have a strong interest in sports in the analytics world and hope to eventually work for one of the large sports brands such as Bleacher Report, ESPN, or SportsCenter.

Academic Background

I grew up in Mentor, Ohio, roughly 30 minutes Northeast of Cleveland, and attended Mentor High School. I spent my first year in college as an Undecided Business Major at the University of Cincinnati. I am also apart of the Economics Society, UC Circle K, and the Treasurer of the Developing and Emerging Nations Society at the University.

Professional Background

In terms of working experience, I started my career at Jersey Mikes my sophomore year of high school to get some early working experience. During my senior year, I worked as a Marketing Intern for Climax Metal Products, a small power transmission distributor in Mentor, Ohio. This summer I also worked at Chick-fil-a in the back of house to get extra working experience and keep busy over summer.

Experience with R/Analytical Programs

During my tenure as a student, I have used little to no programming languages. However, I am learning R, Python, and Tableau through my classes this semester at Lindner. In my past classes and internship, I have used different programs such as Microsoft Excel, Access, and Salesforce.
