Professional Background

Before starting the PhD program, I worked as a Business Analyst at Crowley, a 3PL headquarted in Jacksonville, FL. As part of my role, I was responsible for identifying, researching, and evaluating new supply chain technologies; and developing use cases outlining how to best integrate them into existing operations.

Primary projects include:

  • Autonomous and Electric Trucks

  • Digital Freight Matching

  • Offshore Wind Development

  • Nearshoring Analysis

Prior to joining Crowley full-time, I also interned with them as a Data Analyst, where I focused on the quantification and visualization of value from projects under the Digital Transformation initiative.

Experience with R

I started using R more systematically after joining the University of Cincinnati in 2023; and it has become my primary tool for data analysis on research projects. Before that, I used Python sporadically for course projects during my master’s degree, but I feel more comfortable using R. In addition to this, I recently started using Java to implement some optimization models, and although my experience with it is more limited, I hope to become more proficient in the future.

Personal Information

Some more things about me:

  • I’m a big sports fan, primarily soccer, but after being in the US for a while, I have come to really like American football (go Jags!)

  • I love traveling: I’ve been to 45 out of the 50 US states - I am hoping to visit the remaining before I graduate from UC!

  • I have family all around the world: my three siblings are in China, Germany, and the United Kingdom respectively, which has allowed me to do some very cool trips!
