Sampling divided into 2 parts:
Fixed Sites (streams)
Stratified random (lakes, coastal marine)
Daily tide heights checked at tidally influenced sites
Open Source Tools
rtide package used to automatically pull tidal heightSAS code divided into multiple files
Only 1 license available within our group
Limited staff knowledge of sampling code design
Old SAS code converted to R using AI
Code available to all staff to view, run, edit
In-house expertise allows for customization
Combined with stream date code for streamlined process to generate yearly sampling schedule
Current process performs all checks simultaneously and auto-generates PDF report detailing each check conducted
