About the Site
In 2022-2023, Australia’s health care accessibility showed notable differences influenced by age, social, financial and demographic factors. The Patient Experience Survey revealed that older Australians reported higher satisfaction with health care while younger individuals faced more barriers, especially in mental health care, due to financial difficulties. In contrast, older people, likely benefiting from better financial stability, experienced fewer obstacles. Targeted interventions are necessary to address these differences and enhance health care access for all age groups.
