Listed Congregations reflects the number of congregations that were listed when the annual ALEX reporting period opened on January 17, 2024. Connected Congregations indicates the number of congregations that demonstrated a connection with the wider church by either giving to some form of Disciples outreach or by submitting the annual ALEX Yearbook report for 2023. Reported Congregations indicates the number of congregations that reported their 2023 statistical information to ALEX.

Participation Charts

The charts below are box and whisker plots. These charts provide a way to visualize congregations as a population or group rather than boiling them down to a single statistic like an average or median value.

The box part of the plot is bounded on the top and bottom by the 75th and 25th percentiles, respectively. In other words, 50% of reporting congregations reported values in between these two marks. The line in middle of the box represents the 50th percentile, or the median value. Half of the reporting congregations reported values less than or equal to this value, and half reported values greater than or equal.
