Note: This chart displays the major water inflows and outflows associated with Lake Okeechobee, represented in different colors for clarity:
- Inflows (blue): Water entering Lake Okeechobee, including flows from the L-8 Canal through S-271 (formerly Culvert 10A) and the C-44 Canal through S-308.
- Outflows East and West (red): Water leaving Lake Okeechobee, with the east and west directions indicated in this color. This includes outflows into the L-8 and C-44 canals.
- Outflows South (green): Water exiting Lake Okeechobee to the south is shown in green.
Inflows are depicted as positive values, indicating water entering the lake, while outflows are shown as negative values, indicating water leaving the lake.
Outflows through the S-77 (Caloosahatchee) and S-308 (C-44 Canal) structures are based on downstream gauges to account for flows related to lock openings for navigation.
