Thank you for participating in the Auburn ROTC Fitness Assessment. During your visit, we evaluated your cardiorespiratory/aerobic fitness, muscular fitness, muscular endurance, lower body power, flexibility, & body composition. We compared your results to individuals of the same age and biological sex. Please feel free to contact us if you have questions.
Aerobic Fitness: Aerobic fitness is important to normal daily function and reduced aerobic capacity is associated with premature death and disability. To evaluate your aerobic fitness, we tested your VO2 maximum.
Based on your results your current aerobic fitness places your estimated VO2.max is 40.7 which places you in the Poor range for your age and sex.
Body Composition: We evaluated your body composition using dual X-ray absorptiometry (DEXA). DEXA is by far the most accurate method, and it also gives you a bone mineral density reading which can be useful in maintaining healthy bones.
Your bone density was 1.458. Maintaining bone density is essential throughout our lives to prevent dangerous fractures and additional health concerns.
Your body fat percentage was 28.5% which places you in the Very Poor range for your age group.
Resting Metabolic Rate: Your resting metabolic rate (RMR) is how many calories you burn when you are at complete rest per day. This can be calculated by your body composition and biological sex. Your RMR is: NA.
Vertical Jump: We used the vertical jump to assess your ability to produce full-body explosive power. Power is the ability of your body to generate force within a specific amount of time. To complete the vertical jump, you must use many major muscle groups making it an excellent way to test your explosive power.
Based on your best recorded vertical jump, your jump height was 26.8 inches, which places you within the Excellent range for this assessment.
Muscular Strength: We evaluated your muscular fitness with a 3-rep max test for 3 different exercises: the back squat, the bench press, and the hexbar deadlift. We calculated your 1 rep maximum (how much you can lift 1 time) from your assessments. This can be a useful training tool for you depending on your fitness goals. We have provided guidelines based off your calculated 1 rep maximum for weights to use for various fitness goals including Strength, Power, Endurance, and Hypertrophy.
Your calculated 1 Repetition Maximum for Back Squat is: 407.7 lbs.
Your calculated 1 Repetition Maximum for Bench Press is: 291.2 lbs.
Your calculated 1 Repetition Maximum for HexBar Deadlift is: 447.4 lbs.
BMI: Your BMI is calculated by dividing your weight (in kilograms) by your height (in meters2). In general, you are at increased risk for the development of cardiovascular disease when your BMI is ≥ 30.
