Steps to Foster Articulation Agreements

R Saidi

1. Build a spreadsheet

(Spreadsheet Elements)

  1. Make a list/spreadsheet of your school’s top 10 transfer schools (your transfer office might have this list)
  2. Visit each of those schools’ websites to determine if they have a DS program
    • Think broadly to include data science related degrees as well, such as data analytics, business analytics, or information science.

2. Make connections

Talk/email/zoom

  1. Search names of department chairs, deans, and faculty for these programs. Email these folks with introductions and what you hope to accomplish (keep track of those who respond positively).

  2. Attend national conferences - I have met many contacts/colleagues from LOCAL 4Y schools at national conferences.

AMATYC, ASA, MAA, DS4E, ADSA

3. Build an “alliance” with all TYCs in your state that have data science programs.

Community College of Baltimore County
Harford Community College
Howard Community College
Carroll Community College
Montgomery College
College of Southern Maryland
Prince George’s Community College

Allegany College of Maryland
