Is there a difference in how many eggs are produced per hen based on the process of their production and their production type?
It appears that there is a difference in how many eggs are produced per hen based on their production process. Hens that lay table eggs that are not cage-free appear to produce more eggs per hen than their counterparts. Hens that lay table eggs tend to produce fewer eggs per hen and whether the hens are organic or non-organic does not appear to make any significant difference in their laying production. Hens that lay hatching eggs tend to produce the least eggs per hen.
