In human interactions, group membership plays a significant role, but we have limited real-world data on how it affects people’s willingness to enforce rules by penalizing rule-breakers. This research aims to explore the impact of group membership on norm enforcement. Specifically, we have gathered field data to determine if individuals are more inclined to punish those from their own social group or outsiders. This investigation provides insights into the factors that drive cooperation among strangers in today’s societies.

This research project explores the connection between a country’s economic development and its literacy levels. I use GDP per capita as a measure of economic development and growth. In this study, my dependent variable is a country’s GDP per capita in 2014, while the independent variable is the literacy rate in 2014, measured as the percentage of the population aged 15 and over who can read and write.
