Background

This is a quick pilot of an experimental manipulation of values kept, broken, or control.

Participants were asked to list values of the US on paper and weigh them, as in the correlational study. Then, they were told to think about the value that they thought was the most important: how is it kept vs. how is it broken vs. its role in general, in America.

Then, they completed measures of anti-establishment, support for change, trust in institutions, voting intentions.

Manipulation

All participants were asked about the top value that they listed:

We ask that you think about the ways in which [top_value] is carried out in American society today, regardless of the party in power or the short-term fluctuations in politics.

kept condition
In 2-3 sentences, please describe the ways in which the U.S. is living up to its promise of [top_value].

broken condition
In 2-3 sentences, please describe the ways in which the U.S. is NOT living up to its promise of [top_value].

control condition
In 2-3 sentences, please reflect on the role of [top_value] in the U.S.

Attention Check

But first, let’s exclude participants who failed a very simple attention check.

Measures

Open responses

cond value_rank1 how_text
kept acceptance People in America should be open to different ideas and different people. This helps maintain the culture we have created.
broken democracy There are people who do not accept the results of fair elections. This is undemocratic. In the past, people have accepted the results of elections even though they do not like the candidate who won.
ctrl Democracy We have elections that are mostly fair, with citizens permitted to cast a vote. We have checks and balances to be sure one person doesn’t become corrupt or dictatorial.
broken freedom how can anyone be free when the prices of basic living has doubled if not tripled? people are working themselves to death trying to make ends meet
ctrl Right to free speech We have the right to criticize our government and protest its decisions. Many other countries punish citizens for speaking out.
ctrl freedom of press Allowing press to report without government oversight. Everyone and anyone should be able to publish out to the public without censorship.
ctrl Freedom I think the main role of freedom is captured most in the freedom of speech. In the US freedom of speech is a main pillar of Constitution.
kept personal liberty At the age of majority we have personal license over our own lives, be it to do good or ill or most often, a combination of the two regardless of our circumstances of birth. That is most often not the case in most parts of the world outside the western democracies.
kept freedom It is allowing its citizens to bear arms and shoot guns for their own safety. It upholds the other rights lined out in its constitution too
kept freedom Americans have a lot of freedoms, such as the freedom to vote, the right to bear arms, the freedom of speech, etc. People use the promise of freedom to defend their actions on a daily basis.
ctrl Access to healthcare Every one in the US has equal access to healthcare regardless of financial statues or race. I am form an Asian country where concept of health insurance is unheard of. In US every one have access through health insurance either through their employer or their state. And US has some of the world renowned hospitals that are leading ways in developing technologies in health care.
kept Independence The U.S. values freedom of speech and expression. People have every right to say what they want about who ever they want. People also have the right to pursue the things they want in life like jobs, romantic partners, living situations, and hobbies.
ctrl Liberty It is to be able to look at life and do the best things. The things that we look forward to forever.
broken Freedom I think the biggest thing currently is the censorship, and consequently the lack of freedom of speech. There are certain platforms that only show one side of the information. And with the bills leading to the banning of TikTok, that further supports this point. I feel like TikTok is one of the feel platforms where one can post whatever they want and viewers would be connected and aware of the doings around the world.
broken freedom of speech When talks by certain groups at universities and colleges are canceled. When the government tries to silence the media.
ctrl freedom The role of freedom is clearly stated in the constitution. I believe this is the main reason why U.S declared war to Britain during the revolutionary war.
broken Freedom of speech We are allowinn more and moe limits being put on speech. For instance, protesting has become more contentious. Laws are being made and passed to limit protesting.
kept integrity The U.S. is constantly supporting governments all over the world in crisis situations. It has gone to war with the idea of protecting democracy the world over.
ctrl Freedom It is written in our laws that we have the freedom to do and become what we want and it’s very symbolic. Anyone can become successful in our country and it’s due to the nature of our society that we are able to be what we are unlike other countries around the world.
ctrl right to vote We all have a voice and the right to vote is fundamental. Voting is a chance to be heard, by everyone in our society.
broken Independence Sometimes persons are not able to get what they desire after voting. Independence can also not be achieved when a person is continuously placed under rules and regulations that does not uphold to an individuals rights.
ctrl Freedom Freedom is mostly illustrated by the First Amendment. The First Amendment gives us freedom of speech particularly to speak against the government. In other countries, this could literally get you killed.
kept A Better Future for Posterity The US must do more for future generations. Many of the lawmakers are deciding upon a future they may not be alive to see, and short-sighted ones that only benefit their own re-election campaigns. Issues such as environmentalism, energy independence, and livable standards both economically and structurally are lacking. Future generations do not see a country they can believe in and are increasingly opting out.
broken Equality It is nit living up to its promise of Equality because of different things like gender inequality, some citizens are being cheated because some people don’t pay tax
broken Freedom There are some laws that restrict our freedom such as mandatory seatbelts. Gun control laws also impinge on our rights and out freedoms.
kept freedom of speech People have opinions on various topics and may agree or disagree with a particular topic. Freedom of speech allows you to publicly announce your views on the topic.
kept Its supposed to be a nation of liberty Its not living up to this because its been infiltrated and taken over by radical ideology. We are a captive nation.
broken Freedom Freedom is carried about in ways such as people choosing how and for whom they want to work. Also it allows for freedom of movement and freedom of religion
ctrl freedom I believe freedom is carried out however best supports the political views of the person you are asking. When asking a conservative, freedom is described as ensuring certain constitutional rights are protected (gun rights, etc). When asking a liberal, freedom is described as ensuring everyone has the ability to do what they want with their bodies.
kept Profit In a sense, it is not for the working class, but it is for the many U.S billionaires who are able to profit through underpaying and exported labor to gain higher than average profits per unit on their product sales. In general, wealth does exist in the U.S very clearly, but is generally divided within a smaller circle rather than the country as a whole.
kept freedom We have the freedom to choose how to live our lives. We can choose our religion, career paths, and spouses. We have the freedom to express our views without fear of retaliation. We have the freedom to choose our leaders.
ctrl Freedom of Speech Freedom of speech is allowed in the sense that people are able to express their minds within reason defined by the law. So long as it is not slanderous nor an explicit threat, at least legally defined, discourse can be carried out. This is usually done through online and offline means.
kept Rule of law Generally speaking, the rule of law is what allows the system of governance to continue unimpeded. No one, even the president, is supposed to be above the law. That seems to have been failing lately.
kept freedom We still have freedom of the press. We have freedom to practice different religions. We have the freedom to protest.
broken vote

The ability to vote is the most important right because it allows us to have a say in who runs our government at all levels and in many cases lets us choose laws and mandates. As a group we choose who we hope are the best leaders and because we have frequent elections we can remove the bad politicians.

The US is not living up to the right to vote in a couple of different ways. One is the antiquated idea of the electoral college which means less popular candidates have become president. Another problem are voter rights and how difficult it is for some underrepresented groups to be able to vote at all. Finally there’s voter apathy. Less than half of registered voters bother to show up at the polls. Oh and one more thing - it’s difficult for third parties to break into the 2 party system. That’s not good either.
broken racism It tries to institute non anti racist policies. Certain parts of the country have enacted anti racist laws
broken Freedom Sometimes freedom is limited or politicians or people try to control freedom. People in the US are allowed to do whatever they want. Forcing people to think or talk a certain way or think a specific way is against freedom. The government forcing you to do things is not freedom.
broken Freedom The taxes we are obligated to spend. I feel like we have to give so much, that we lose our freedom of time and and economics.
kept Freedom We have a judicial process which, for the most part, is fair. Our freedoms are not denied unless we willingly and purposefully take away someone else’s freedom, or commit another egregious act.
kept freedom of speech People are allowed to peacefully protest. People can actually say racist and offensive things to each other. People can campaign for any person they would like to.
kept Freedom of religion The freedom of religion is upheld every day. People of all religious beliefs express it openly each and every day.
ctrl change Just like the saying “change is a constant thing in life” The United State Of America has changed and lot and has come a long way. Learning new ways to help and better improve society
broken Freedom There are many people who would not consider themselves to be “free” in the United States. For example, there are people who are homeless and cannot live as freely as others. There are also people who experience oppression, like African American people and LGBT people, which makes them able to live less freely in many parts of the country.
ctrl Equality Equality is improving but is not on where we want it to be. there are still old-style thinkers or hater that want to keep their world unchanged. I can’t say companies themselves but there are people who will provide more opportunities even with lack of skills to individuals who have the same color or sex that they have which is Sad at this day and age.
ctrl Freedom You are able to choose your path regardless of where you were born or who you are. You are not limited by the government or anyone else. You have the choice to do what you want.
ctrl Freedom One gets to make choices that will affect their daily living, usually without consequence. Freedom to live, in general, to how you want.
kept Strong, healthy economy The United States is a capitalist country that is run entirely on privately-owned businesses that build up into large corporations. The economy revolves around buying goods and services from individual businesses instead of relying on them from the government. This capitalist society allows for social mobility that is not possible in many other countries.
kept equality The US has failed over the years in providing equality to the people of the country. In recent years there have been some strides towards equality, but the system is still lacking significantly.
broken freedom There are small sections of the country that are limiting people’s freedoms. One way is pro-choice people in Texas are not allowed to leave the state to get an abortion. If America is free, how can one state say you can’t go to another state to do something that is legal there?
broken freedom The U.S. over the decades has put in place too many regulations on things such as business and property rights. This overregulation has over time reduced the freedom we have to operate a business and enjoy our property in whatever ways we wish to.
kept Free speech Free speech is a right and everyone has the right to air his or her opinion. The U.S is living up to it by not suppressing the voice of the people. Everyone feels heard.
broken equality Equality is carried out in American society by how everyone has equal opportunity to grow. It’s not living up to its promise because even though everyone has equal opportunity to grow economic and racial challenges arise.
ctrl Freedom We have freedom through the things we are able to do and things we are able to say. People migrate here for the freedoms. We especially are entitled to the pursuit of happiness and we experience freedoms through religion, speech, and much more
ctrl Confidence The US is confident in everything they do. Most people tend to trust the government to do the right thing. People in the society also see their selves as equals and confident in each other.
broken freedom of religion there has been attempts to reduce freedom of religion through various means thru local governments, but has ultimately been stopped by the federal level by the supreme court
ctrl Liberty Liberty is fundamental, it allows individuals to express their views freely. The value is upheld through freedoms such as speech, religion, and assembly.
kept individualism The US is very tolerant of people expressing their personal views, regardless of how polarizing or disruptive they may be. Even when peoples views cause division and uproar, the US seems to be extremely tolerant of allowing people to be who they are.
broken stability recently, there has been an unusual case of inflation and salaries just aren’t living up to it. so this isn’t much of the stability
broken opportunity The US is living up to its promise for opportunity. Anyone can come here and start a business or get a good job and provide for their family.
ctrl freedom American can freely speak their minds about how the feel about the government without fear of reprisals. People have the freedom to achieve their economic goals and how prosperous they would like to be. The U..S. Constitution guarantees certain freedoms and that’s what makes America great.
broken competitive standing America wants to be seen as the greatest country to live in, yet it does little to help the people who are struggling. Lately, it has probably been a joke for other countries when it comes to the leadership Americans have to choose from and the policies that the government has chosen to focus on. America is constantly falling behind in education for children as well when compared to other countries, and it doesn’t seem that the government sees it as something that needs to be worked on.
kept Equality I don’t believe the U.S. is living up to it’s promise of equality. There is too much division, far too many homeless people, and hatred toward people who may be different from yourself.
kept Freedom The Bill of Rights and people clinging to it and exploiting it as much as possible. This includes freedom of speech. That’s a huge one as people would go for that whenever they are challenged.
ctrl freedom By rules and laws in which all citizens must follow. No one person is above these laws and everyone is protected by these laws.
broken liberty and freedom the racial difference and police brutality limits the liberty of the US. the discrimination against race and sex makes not all people in the US to enjoy freedom
kept Freedom The basic freedoms defined in the constitution are protected by law and are an intrinsic part of the American culture to this day. Freedom of speech and freedom of religion are a great example, specially when compared to other countries.
broken Justice One of the most glaring flaws in the justice system is racial bias. African Americans and other minority groups are disproportionately represented in arrests, convictions, and harsher sentencing compared to white individuals for similar offences. This bias can be seen at various stages of the justice process, including policing, prosecution, and sentencing.
ctrl Freedom Freedom is the core of the US attained independence from the British. Freedom in the US is binding on citizens to act freely in many social ways with repression. Freedom allows expression of self and self values.
ctrl Equality Equality stands as a cornerstone of American ideals, providing the foundations for a just, prosperous and inclusive society. i think the government still needs to do more and be intentional about this in order to achieve the ideal American society.
ctrl free speech Free speech in the U.S. allows the right wing hater who spends most of his of her life hidden away spewing hate to emerge occasionally with full fury into the light of day. This happened in Charlottesville.
kept individualism individualism has always been defining feature of america life and is reflected in both the best and worst f aamerica.
broken Power to the people People should be the one electing the government officials. If the people are not happy, they should be able to vote them out
ctrl Equality Equality means providing equal opportunities and treatment to all American citizens. It also is very important to uphold human dignity
broken peace with the cases of robbers hitting and terrorism with gun shooting happening here and thee, it is not vey peaceful at the moment, hopefully gun control is further implemented
ctrl individualism in american society. individualism is often associated with the idea of self reliance and the emphasis on personal achievement and success. however, this emphasis on individualism can sometimes lead to a sense centeredness and a desire to win at all cost.
kept Uniting people Giving opportunity to immigrant to file for their family outside America. This enables legal immigrants to unite with their families.
broken rights Such as the freedom to speech. If a person says too much or others don’t agree sometimes people in power is ready to shut them down.
kept rule of law free and fair elections that ensure our rights as citizens are protected. There are also regulations that protect whistleblowers.
kept Democracy The US has, despite challenges, maintained free and fair elections. Transitions in power have proceeded peacefully
kept Equality We uphold equal access to jobs, school admissions, etc. We are known for being a diverse country with equal access to resources.
ctrl freedom You are free to be whoever you want to be without any kind of restrictions. No government telling where you want to live, be who you want to be, worship whoever you want or whatever religion you want to follow and the opportunity to follow your dreams.
ctrl free speech and press The role of free speech and press is so that the government cannot suppress unpopular views and ideas. Everyone should have the right to express themselves and consider all views, not just the ‘approved’ ones.
kept Freedom Freedom is given in several forms. We have freedom of speech and freedom to make many types of choices.
kept Popular sovereignty The voting system consists of people voting and electives representing their votes. People always get a say, no matter how small.
kept pursuit of happiness A person can expevt to get a reasonable good start to their education. They can choose what field of work that they want to delve into. They can commit to a family or not.
ctrl Cultural Diversity Diversity teaches us to respect the fact that all people are important regardless of race, culture etc. This is a great value which every citizen is aware of.
kept Freedom The ability to vote to elect our leaders. A criminal justice system that is designed fairly to try each court case. A democratic society, where we are not under a dictatorship.
ctrl Equality The government is trying their best to incorporate this when it comes to race, gender mostly. Low income housing, different hiring processes for women and slowly but surely, wages
broken strength US is failing to keep it’s power on a reasonable level agreed by it’s people. We’re not the power we once were, but are trying to retain that image.
ctrl Freedom of choice Freedom of choice is fundamental US right, empowering individuals to shape their lives and pursue their passions.it foaster, inovation, creativity, and personal growth
kept Liberty The freedom of press to write about the news. As well as the liberty to vote for our representatives.
kept freedom We have different constitutional freedoms that we can rely on. For example, freedom of speech - we’re free to say what we think and believe without being ostracized or punished. We’re also living under a democratic government, so we have freedom to vote and choose the way we want to live and the beliefs we want to hold.
ctrl peace peace is essential as it reduces the chaos in and gives the citizen assurance about their wellbeing and properties, it is very essential to the growth of the economy too
broken Democracy Although we have a voting system in place for the people to decide on laws. Politicians end up having final say in what happens with the country. Not the people
broken minimal government We do not apply the constraints of our Constitution to our federal government. We allow, even expect it, to do things not permitted under the Constitution. By the way, that it the biggest reason we are now over 33 trillion dollars in debt!
broken Freedom Too many taxes and regulations. Politicians trying to mandate laws and invasion of privacy of personal issues. Not allowing states rights to prevail. Having a hugely biased media and large democrat base in the media
broken Power I think every time the United State’s overasserts it’s power, it delegitimizes itself. By helping to colonize other lands, it has essentially become worse than the british we originally fought.
ctrl Democracy For the present, I believe democracy is still important to many Americans. Although, we are in real danger of losing this fundamental way of life because there is a real chance that in the next election a man will be elected who doesn’t believe in Democracy. If Trump is elected I have no doubt that this country will come under his dictatorship and democracy will no longer be the guiding principle of our country. I do not believe we would ever have another election until his death, if he is elected. Democracy is under a real and terrifying threat from Trump and his supporters.
broken Different is bad It’s the way that we are conditioned to be wary of people who aren’t white american and who don’t believe in the things that the average American is supposed to believe. American tends to live up to that everyday.
ctrl freedom Freedom is the bedrock upon which The United States of America was built. It is our freedom and way of life that makes most all other countries envious of us. Freedom is what prompts immigrants to strive to relocate here. Freedom is the blanket of protection that all Americans sleep under. Freedom is the reason that the United States of America is the best country in the entire world to live in. Our freedom was hard fought for and not easily attained nor easily maintained. America is perhaps the country that most embodies the value of freedom and liberty.
kept Liberty Ongoing debates and legal battles regarding civil liberties serve as a testament to the country’s commitment to safeguarding individual freedoms. All citizens have the opportunity to pursue their own paths.
ctrl Democracy Democracy is an important role that provides the opportunity for the will of its citizens to be heard and respected through voting. Democracy is the fairest way for a country to be controlled by citizens. Democracy ensures fair leadership.
broken freedin The United States is actively taking freedoms away from people today, such as the overturning of Roe v Wade.
ctrl economic freedom The ability to have freedom in how people work, trade, acquire, etc. I believe that it allows for a sense of autonomy in how individuals make their livelihood.
kept Our right to freedom We are able to be free to express our values openly. We are free to practice religion as we choose. We are free to bear arms to protect ourselves as well.
ctrl Liberty We are losing liberty in this country. If we had true liberty I would be able to pursue whatever medical interventions that I see fit - or not. There would be no vaccine or mask mandates. There would be no suppression of effective medicines in lieu of deadly gene therapies.
kept freedom I believe people for the most part have been able to live free and live to their upmost potential. I think most people are able to live and do what they please.
ctrl democracy Most politicians are corrupted by money from the rich. Democracy is almost over because of the courts like the supreme court is packed with crooks whose goal is to turn this country into a right wing fascist dictatorship so the rich can steal everything and hurt whatever they want to for profit.
ctrl Freedom of speech Citizens are allowed to speak their minds in public, and to publicly criticize elected officials. Citizens cannot be jailed for anti-government demonstrations. All Americans, regardless of political affiliation, are allowed to voice their opinions. And, there is a free press and uncensored (most days?)mass media apps.
ctrl Freedom We have the freedom to attend a public or private school. We have the freedom to travel where we want. We have the freedom to work in a career we chose.
kept Capitalism Americans are encouraged to be entrepreneurs and start businesses. Many people in America are judged by their net worth, this creates social pressure to earn more. Many of our tax laws are biased towards wealthy business owners so that they pay very little in taxes compared to poor or middle-class people, some see this as a good thing that will encourage business owners to keep innovating.
ctrl independence All people are treated as equals in the eye of the law. People are free to pursue their wants and desires. They can move about the country freely
kept Liberty and equality Institutions like the supreme court have consistently upheld individual rights and protections. However, there is still work to be done to fully achieve this ideal.
broken opportunity There is too much centralization. Too many rules and laws hinder ones ability to earn a living for example. Arcane rules regarding immigration prevent some from benefiting from American opportunity even when their contributions would benefit America.
kept freedom of religion Each person in America is allowed to go to any church they want. They can worship in any religion the want. If there are restrictions, it is placed by their own family or church not the government. They also do not have to have a religion if they so desire not to.
broken liberty Many recent policy decisions have been based upon restricting the rights of individuals in order to protect the feelings of some noisy groups. Liberty is taking a back seat in service of some religious nuts.
broken individualism political polarization and efforts to undermine judicial independence threaten the impartiality and fairness that the rule of law demands
broken Democracy I think allowing a president or candidate to try to overthrow the government does not uphold democracy. Allowing people to question our voting results.
ctrl freedom of speech Freedom of speech enables each individual to express their beliefs and thoughts without repercussion.
kept Taxes By increasing taxes tenfold and more and more every month or so. We’re not very good with money apparently.
broken democracy I think that the U.S. struggles with unequal access to voting because of voter suppression tactics which disproportionately affect marginalized communities. Also the influence of money in politics, through lobbying, and campaign financing, undermines the principle of equal representation which allows wealthy individuals and corporations to influence the political process.
broken Freedom of speech We let anyone give their opinion as long as they follow the rules about certain words like you cannot yell “fire” in a theatre
broken freedom of speech Nowadays it seems that freedom of speech is limited to freedom of liberal leaning free speech. Conservative voices do not get that same freedom of speech or the press or assembly for that matter.
ctrl Life People are free to live life and do as they please. There’s no one stopping anyone from going anywhere or doing anything.
broken Independence There are many new policies that place new restrictions on people. There are also amendments to past decisions which are imposing more restrictions on different demographics.
kept republican form of government Members of the Congress and the president are elected for fixed terms and leave office peacefully when their terms expire. There are no titles of nobility. Citizens generally have the right to vote.
ctrl Freedom People have the freedom to speak their mind. People are not convicted for their beliefs. Everybody has equal rights.
kept better healthcare system The country has a good system but it needs to make the cost of healthcare cheaper. It makes sure that people will get checked out faster.
broken Independence of the individual through expression Free expression is limited the most in the press. At protests and peaceful gatherings, the media is often met with violence or force on part of the state-funded police. This expression is guaranteed, but not enforced and is rarely brought to higher courts for resolution.
kept Freedom Of Speech People are allowed to express their personal views/opinions through blogs, podcasts and other forms of online content without the fear of reprisal from the government.
broken freedom can’t fly without papers, can’t fly without searches, if they think someone does a crime they confiscate money and items, even if it’s not true. There seems to be a lack of due process.
kept Freedom The U.S. is living up to its promise of freedom by allowing the people to decide upon its laws. We are also allowing people to express and decide for themselves how they wish to live.
ctrl freedom In the united states we have the freedom to choose which political party we want to support without repercussions. which religion we decide to follow without persecution, and the ability to choose which career we get to pursue without it being chosen for us or being limited.
broken freedom There is no guarantee of freedom. Illegal immigrants are being given too much freedom in this country. We need to close our borders and make them come here by legal means. We do not need to allow them extra rights to our borders.
ctrl Capitalism Capitalism plays an important role in ensuring that the other values I mentioned are able to be upholded. The system of capitalism, especially with how it operates in the United States, creates a divide amongst the population based on their wealth, but still, those who have to work and produce labor to survive, are nowhere near those who simply extract surplus labor value from the working class, and are thus able to live in wealth, despite not producing labor themselves.
kept independence We have been free from the rule of a dictator or a one party rule until recently. As long as the elections are tamper free and the citizens believe that there is no interference, then we have a democratic process. And having that kind of process leads us to believe that we have control over the ruling party.
kept Opportunities The US, having a capitalistic economy, provides economic opportunities unmatched in the world. It’s the reason thousands of immigrants are trying to get in.
broken liberty The first thing that comes to mind is the ban on abortions, which negates the liberty for a woman to make decisions about her own body. We had made progress in the 70’s, 80’s, 90’s, but it feels like we are going back to the dark ages regarding the place of women in society.
kept Freedom of speech People can say most anything as long as it’s not a threat and it’s protected People can’t threaten others.
kept Ability to pass laws The congress has the ability to pass a law but whether it ever truly becomes one is the issue with the two sides fighting over it.
ctrl equal opportunity In theory it is a good idea. in practice it falls short because it is so difficult to create and have individuals work at it the oportunities given. Its failures can be attributed to system bias which gets the most scrutiny whereas the individual’s reasons for failure are not so much.
ctrl Freedom of speech Freedom of speech in American society today is carried out in several ways. Every individual has the right speak in public about any and all aspects of the American government, from how policies are adopted to how they are enacted, without fear of governmental retribution. The press in the United States is free to report on all government activities and to express an opinion about those activities without fear of retribution.
broken Government by the people Gerrymandering is the number one cause of of the US government NOT living up to the promise of the Constitution of the people being governed by consent. The second reason is the Electoral College. It should be abolished in favor of the popular vote to truly be a fair representation of the will of the people.
broken Freedom The US is not living up to its promises of freedom as it continues to take away our basic rights, as well as driving up inflation by putting us in unnecessary wars. Our gun rights, freedom of speech, it’s all being challenged and slowly taken from us. COVID was a prime example of the government attempting to take away our rights by threatening us about not getting vaccinated. It’s getting to the point they’re putting us in a position to start a civil war.
ctrl Freedom of religion Unfortunately, I do not think we have true freedom of religion today. I am basing this on the last 40 years or so, so I do not consider it a short term fluctuation. Christian Nationalists have slowly been chipping away at our rights and are ready to create a theocracy from what was once the United States.
ctrl Rights given by God These rights cannot be taken away are not created or given by humans. They are called unalienable rights.
broken Due process It is not living up to due process because of liberalism. We have a no bail rule in NY letting criminals out on a revolving door.and we have disproportionate sentencing
ctrl democracy collaboration between parties and very important, listening to the people is equally important for America to be successful
kept liberty Compared to other nations, Liberty i very present in America. Other nations do not have liberty like we do.
ctrl our civil rights I think our Civil rights are the grounds for Federal Laws and The Constitution. They include the right to vote, freedom from discrimination, privacy, public education for our children, a fair trial, housing, the use of public facilities, and the practice of the religion of your choice.
ctrl Liberty Liberty is the freedom to exercise your first amendment rights. I believe for the most part this right has been firmly upheld, with people able to freely express their opinions.
broken Military Strength Our military strength is steadily declining by allowing transgender people to serve. It is their right to defend the country but coming out on the battlefield looking all controversial does not represent the American service members who gave their lives for it to end up like this. We are a laughing stock internationally. Now I can see some lesbian bull dyke coming out with an attitude and a machine gun, that might scare the enemy off.
broken Freedom. Of speech Deleting comments on social media that they find inappropriate, censorship, controling what the media reports.
ctrl religious freedom people can believe in whatever god they want to, or none at all. Some countries require you to practice their religion.
broken right to own guns Many States want to outlaw guns, or limit the number that you can own. Some States make it impossible to carry a gun legally purchased
ctrl Freedom of religion All should be able to have faith without being hurt. It should also be that others do not control religion and connect it to the government policies.
broken Freedom of religion At present most have the freedom of worship . The government is trying more and more to stifle that like not allowing prayer in school the peaceful assembly for religion which was in former time even on street corners has now been stronghold to prevent this and in business you cannot deny service due to religious beliefs without retribution
ctrl free speech, to be able to say almost anything Free speech in American society today means, among other things, that you can peacefully protest things that you feel are unfair to certain groups of people. In America today, there are many different issues going on where there is a considerable difference of opinion and so lots of protests going on.
kept equality Equality is crucial for social justice and upholding human dignity. It means providing equal opportunities and fair treatment for all Americans, regardless of their race, gender, religion, or socioeconomic status. Addressing system racism: The U.S. must continue to confront and dismantle systemic racism. Efforts to restrict voting rights continue to be a major challenge, and it is essential that the U.S. strengthens voting rights act to ensure all citizens have an equal say in political process.
kept all created equal I think the US is still a land of opportunity. The American Dream is still possible and attainable. Although the U.S. has many challenges and divisions, the value of “all created equal” is still held by many if not most. There are many barriers to this ideal but the barriers are being constantly challenged and many are still able to rise from very humble beginnings.
broken Pursuit of happiness I feel that actions we might take in our lives that will help us be happy have become more limited over the last years. As an example, many of us worry about mass shootings, so we think twice about going to events we might attend with family and friends. As far as pursuit of happiness, in this respect, the U.S. is not at all living up to its promise.
kept sovernity The U.S. does all it can to keep other powers from taking over the country. It has a strong military for defense and policies in place to deal with aggression.
ctrl democratic government Democracy is the heart of the govenrment. It allows the people the right to select who governs them.
ctrl Bravery We work together to protect our rights and all exhibit bravery when faced with adversity. An example is when 911 happened the entire country banded together to support our country
kept freedom Freedom of speech is very important in debating the issues and allowing citizens to criticize the government. Freedom of religion is very important to avoid government suppression and allow citizens to choose their own beliefs.
broken Freedom of Speech There are some who would limit speech because it doesn’t fit with what they believe. Everyone should have the right to say what they believe as long as it is truthful and does not slander another. Unfortunately, some abuse this freedom and attempt to limit others and their ideals.
ctrl Equality Equality is designed to ensure everyone is treated fairly. In the workplace or the marketplace, everyone deserves equal pay or products.
broken Freedom for all There seems to be some disparity between races when it comes to treatment in jobs, schools and law enforcement. There is and probably always will be this problem in some people but certainly not all people.
kept equal rights There are many laws that have been created to ensure that companies treat various groups of people equally regardless of race, gender identity, age, sex.
kept democratic government they people have a voice in their local elected officials as well as on the state and federal levels. People are free to pursue their own education/career paths. People are free from tyranny, threats, victimization, fear that dictatorships thrive on. People can determine their own paths and futures. People can worship what/how/where they choose. Women can have professions. The people can get an education.
broken the right to vote The United States is not living up to its right to vote when election day is NOT a valid day off work. It’s important that EVERYONE vote, and those who work some schedules cannot get to the polls. In states where mail in ballots are discouraged or difficult to qualify for, we are falling short. And when polling places are too far away from many people, in some cases, their right to vote is in danger. And when people are intimidated into voting a CERTAIN way, their right to vote is jeopardized.
ctrl Freedom People are free to say and do what they want to, within reason. This has always been a hallmark of the United States.
broken a government for all, not some While I see improvements, there are still huge gaps in opportunity and pay for underrepresented groups. These gaps are enshrined in systems and institutions, and have been since the inception of this country. Those who thrive on promoting a us versus them mentality do great harm to our democracy.
ctrl Liberty In most cases the individual freedom of people in the US is of primary importance. We also try to help ensure freedom of people throughout the world.
broken All man created equal Jeez, it’s basically all over the place recently. Leading candidates making extremely racial comments, law enforcement profiling, company hiring processes all support that the U.S is not living up to this promise.
kept Liberty The U.S. lives up to its promise of Liberty be defending its ally nations from intrusions. Too bad it does not defend it’s own nation.
ctrl speak freely while it feels uncomfortable it is important. All must be able to expreee their views. There is no freedom if there is no way to profess.
broken Democracy The US is not living up to its promise of Democracy by putting labels on people and not treating everyone equally. The US is always trying to repair some groups mistreatment by not treating the whole society equal.
kept Honor Well with Biden we don’t have honor. Honor was one thing we did have before Biden, but he has ruined our country to the point we are laughing stock to the world. There is not honor in our world anymore & he has taken so much from America, I’m not sure we will ever recover from all his bidenomnics.
kept freedom of speech The US is NOT living up to giving citizens freedom of speech today. There is censorship. Currently “hate speech” is being considered a crime instead of a difference of opinion. We may not like what others say but they have the right to say it.
kept Freedom The US is living up to its promise of freedom by continuing to promote civil liberties such as free speech and freedom of assembly. It also encourages other types of freedom including economic freedom (e.g., labor rights, business freedoms) and political freedom (e.g., elections, voting).
ctrl freedom We choose to get up and go to work. We choose the work we do. We choose where we can live. We choose who to marry.
kept freedom One way that we have freedom in the US is that we are free to practice whatever religion we choose. We are also free from political persecution.
kept Equality It does this by gender equality and inclusion. It has made policies to accommodate these differences
broken religious freedom for all men The US is really struggling with this right now. There are religious hate groups attacking other groups. For example the anti-sematism is abysmal
ctrl freedom of speech The freedom of speech allows people of all walks of life i the country to be able to speak their mind. It is a right that is also let’s people say how they feel regardless if other people do not approve of it.
ctrl Independence The US operates as a sovereign nation. The governing body makes independent choices on behalf of the nation.
broken Freedom of speech In today’s world you have to really watch what you say as to not offend people. Every thing can be taken offensively it seems and once it is it’ll become a whole movement.
broken Human RIghts The United states fall short of fully upholding the human rights in several areas which includes inadequate health care and education and ongoing issues with police brutality
kept Freedom I think the US is still giving individuals the right to choose the way they want to live, as well as who they want to love. I think it’s allowing for people to do things in the way they want for the most part.
broken life It is causing and contributing to wars across the nation, trying to indictrinate children about things that are not morally right, cheating to get the political power they think they deserve.
broken freedom as time goes on the government taxes us more and more to give the money to other countries instead of letting us keep what we earn. they also continue to pass more and more laws preventing us from doing what we want. 100 years ago there was no such thing as a license to hunt or fish on your own land, now you have to ask for permission and pay for those rights.
kept Freedom The United States provides freedom in multiple ways. Citizens in the U.S. have freedom of speech, freedom of religion, and freedom of expression. The U.S. also lives up to its promise of freedom by having freedom of the press.
ctrl Freedom of religion Freedom of religion in the U.S. is carried out today as nothing stops someone from entering a religious building and people are welcome to practice whatever religion they choose. Also, people can covert religions at any time and people can also choose not to be religious.
ctrl humanity United states citizens show for humanity by standing up for what we believe in. A lot of us value ourselves.
ctrl Freedom of speech Freedom of speech is a unique right that Americans posses, which many other countries do not allow. It is critical to the success of a nation, as censored speech creates a problem were people aren’t allowed to think freely.
kept freedom of religion I think the US tries to live up to its promise of freedom of religion but the undercurrent just screams Christianity. Since it’s the predominant religion by far, it’s natural that creeps in but it’s better than other counties.
kept Democracy The United States, will technically a republic, reinforces the idea of democracy by having elections. The elections allow people to vote on the president, their senators, and their representatives. In addition, local and state governments have elections for local representatives.
ctrl Freedom Freedom of the press, freedom of expression, freedom of movement, freedom of speech. All of these freedoms are guaranteed to all Americans.
ctrl liberty In today’s society, we see liberty reflected in the protection of our rights. We have the freedom of speech, religion, etc. guaranteed by the Bill of Rights. These liberties allow us to express our opinions and beliefs safely and freely.
kept Freedom Freedom to live your life how you choose, to for example, decide what you want to do for a job. Freedom to be yourself and stand by your decisions.
broken Independence I’m a little frustrated with the limited access to abortion. I do think this takes away a women’s independence in deciding what to do with her own body.
kept Liberty Free from other countries oppression. We are not controlled by or reigned by another country imposing laws on us.
ctrl Freedom We have the freedom to express ourselves and can build a bright and vibrant future as well as the right to vote for candidates who represent our values.
ctrl Diversity Diversity is essential in American Society.Embracing diversity improves the community and also reflects the country’s commitment towards equality. No man is seen less of others.Equal rights and equal laws abound for everyone. It shapes its economy and identity.
kept World Leader I feel like the United States lives up to the ideology of being a world leader. Whether that be through foreign policy decisions that directly affects the world, or through our economy that is the biggest in the world.
ctrl Freedom I think generally the US is still arguably the most free country on the planet but I feel that has been eroding over the past several years. More things have been happening that mirror dystopian concepts like big brother have become more prevalent helped by advances in tech. Freedom is carried out by those in power who go against the grain and fight these measures.
broken Freedom Trying to take away our Constitutional rights such as 2A. Intentionally defining it as for hunting, instead of protecting our rights, politicians are being deceiving in the reason for it.
ctrl freedom There is a certain amount of freedom in the U.S. which lets citizens decide how they want to live their lives. Provided the acts do not harm others, the government lets people do what they like, within reason.
broken EQUALITY EQUALITY IS THAT VALUE THAT HOLDS THAT ALL PEOPLE MUST BE TREATED FAIRLY AND WITH DIGNITY. UNFORTUNATELY THAT IS NOT THE CASE FOR THE LOW CLASS IN THE UNITED STATES. THE LOW CLASS ARE NOT OPPORTUNE TO A LOT OF OPPORTUNITY.
kept patriotism The U. S is a melting point of cultures, with a rich tapestry of ethnicities, languages, religions, and traditions. This cultural diversity is celebrated and embraced through cultural festivals, heritage months and community events that showcase the contributions of different ethnic and cultural groups to American society.
ctrl freedom We have an election process and a separation of powers spelled out in our constitution. This is an attempt to limit a small amount of people from ruling the masses.
ctrl freedom Freedom of speech, religion, etc. is an important value in American culture. Whether “freedom” actually exists and to what degree depends on who you ask, however, and different political parties will also have much different definitions of it. Certain people on the far ends of political parties tend to want t restrict freedoms.
ctrl freedom The way freedom is carried out in the American society today is that people have the freedom to do pretty much anything they want or set their minds to. You are allowed to practice your religious beliefs, say what you want, own want you want, work where and when you want. We enjoy a freedom that few other countries do.
kept Freedom It would be a combination of some of the other values I listed, such as freedom of speech, religion, or others listed in the Bill of Rights.
kept liberty The US lives up to it’s principles of of free speech, assembly and religion. This is regardless of race, gender or background.
broken Freedom Immigrants that try to come to the U.S have to sit in detention centers which can have bad conditions. They are not guaranteed asylum in the United States and many are discriminated against. People are arrested sometimes and deprived of their rights without enough proof or due to corruption.
ctrl Personal Freedoms Personal freedoms allow us to protest. They allow us to voice our opinions. They allow us to own firearms.
ctrl liberty Liberty is the freedom to do what you want without hurting others. Its your pursuit of happiness without the government impeding.
kept Religious freedom It is not living up to its promise. Religion is being pushed in our political system. Church and state are not separate, but they need to be.
kept Equality I believe that there is still room for improvement when it comes to everyone being treated equally. For example the overturn of roe vs wade has caused women’s lives to be at risk.
broken Individualism While I think individualism is one of the values that is still strongly adhered to, it can be argued that increasing government oversight and/or cultural trends in the country have had a negative impact on the ability to express ones individualism. For example, many people I know are often uncomfortable speaking their minds on various controversial topics for fear of backlash. This has a limiting effect on peoples’ ability to truly be an individual with their own convictions.
kept Property Rights The founding documents establish the inalienable rights of property owners. The original citizens consisted of property-owning (and slave-owning) white men, constellating in places like Virginia. Deriving values from Enlightenment-era philosophers, land ownership served as the theoretical grounding for tracts such as the Constitution. The fetishization of property ownership extends, I would argue, into seemingly nonsensical rights of corporations, and money generally, such as the Supreme Court decision that political contributions count as free speech.
kept Honesty By trying to be transparent as possible. By not hiding facts and by being reasonable. Also by trying to have a transparent dialogue between people.
broken Liberty Liberty also means freedom, however many lawmakers have prevented living how you want to live and their choices such as Roe vs Wade.
kept justice U.S strive to uphold justice through its independent judiciary system , ensuring fair trials and protection of human rights.
broken Liberty I think that the U.S. is not living up to the liberty for American society because it seems that each passing year the liberty to do things are becoming less. Meaning that we seem to have more bills and things passed that are taking away liberties to be free so to speak that originally the constitution was written for and there are constant amendments or so it seems being made which is further decreasing our liberty.
broken Freedom of speech You are “canceled” or put out of business if you say the wrong thing. The U.S. is absolutely NOT living up the its promise of Freedom of speech. It’s becoming communistic.
broken life WE are all given the opportunity for life upon birth, in the US life comes with certain benefits and freedoms
ctrl freedom of speech Freedom of speech is seen in newspapers, online and expressed verbally on television/radio. But even more importantly it is expressed between citizens during conversations with each other or in forums.
broken Freedom Many are employed in the workforce under strict contracts in which their freedoms and ability to live their own life are drastically affected. Many states have at-will hiring which means that you can be fired for any reason and puts you at the wishes and whims of your employer. If you step out of line to any extent then your livelihood is in jeopardy and you might have to go through a lengthy legal process to be treated fairly.
ctrl Freedom Freedom is the value that led to the Revolutionary War. The United States values freedom. Freedom is, or should be, a guiding principle of the country.
ctrl Life Life in American society today is carried out and focused way to much by corporations, their profit and how they can lobby the US government.
broken Freedom Being censored on social media if you are a conservative. Facebook and other media outlets will take down a post if has conservative views
broken freedom Freedoms have been stripped from us in modern times. Social groups are always fighting to take away things from us that are hard to get back.
kept Democracy The US lives up to its promise by allowing free elections. These occur from the smallest town to the entire country.
broken Freedom of Speech I think generally the promise of freedom of speech is being lived up to in the US. However parts of it are being tested right now especially in the freedoms of expression. It is becoming increasingly harder to hold peaceful protests especially in certain parts of the country. There is a minority of people who are being overly emphasized and are used as an excuse to unconstitutionally prevent protests from being organized.
kept Liberty for all The core concept is freedom of choice, identity and self-expression for all citizens. The government should not place unreasonable controls on its citizens and important issues are free for everyone. I think we do a good job for important things like freedom of speech, protest, expression, etc. But for women’s issues I feel the government is overly curtailing their rights.
kept Our Freedom The ways that the U.S. is living up to its promise is by allowing free speech. We also hav the right to peaceful protest which goes hand in hand with speech.
broken Constitutional A lot of people seem to care more about their own beliefs than the Constitution. If they support it, then the Constitution is not considered.
kept Liberty In the U.S you are free from any authority from telling you what you have to believe. You can openly have any belief that you want to have and it’s legal no matter what the belief is or what the majority believe. You are free to say whatever you want because there is no situation where words come out of your mouth and you go to prison.
kept Freedom to practice religion Religious groups of a variety of backgrounds are allowed to assemble in public and practice their religion without fear of violent persecution from the government. Religions are able to feel safe from discrimination in the workplace by not receiving retaliation from the employer by taking a Religious day off.
ctrl Right to bear arms People are able to own guns. Some states have more lenient laws about guns and let people carry them in public. Some citizens feel very strongly about this right.
kept representation The election system in this country gives its citizens a chance to change the government if they are unhappy. In this, we believe in rule of the majority.
broken Freedom I believe that in the subject of freedom, the United States is sometimes limiting the Freedom of Speech. The government is regulating or restricting the algorithms of such speech to it’s liking.
ctrl Diversity Diversity makes up our country and is celebrated by our “melting pot” ideals. Minus political affiliations influences, the citizens should all unite as Americans and be accepting of our differences.
kept Freedom You still have the freedom to protest for example, the freedom to speak your mind as well. Not all freedoms are so clear however, but the freedom to spend money how you want is another freedom.
ctrl Freedom We have a lot of freedom in the united states. Freedom of choice being the main one. Thats something a lot of countries don’t have and I think it is what makes the United States so special.
kept Democracy Free will. Electoral process, equality, freedom of religion , work opportunities are plentiful and freedom of expression
broken Freedom Healthcare is not provided at an affordable rate to all LEGl citizens of this country. Also, increased security measures by the government has eroded our civil liberties.
ctrl Freedom Freedom serves as a foundation principle that shapes various aspects of the society. It empowers individuals to express themselves and engage in democratic processes.
ctrl democracy it allows there to be balance, it provides accountablity. It puts power in the hands of citizens.
broken freedom Freedom is supposed to appy to those who are Americans. Instead, it has extended to those crossing the border illegally. They have more freedom than citizens.
broken All men created equal We needed groundbreaking lawsuits and federal legislation to try to address the inequities that still exist based on race, nationality, gender, etc. If the US was living up to its promises we wouldn’t need to impose regulations for the workplace, housing, sports, etc to try to ensure we’re all treated equally.
broken freedom We are free to practice the religion we choose. We also have a right and freedom to speak out on issues we disagree with.
broken Freedom of speech Of course everybody knows that their is a lot of censorship going around in recent times and I believe this one tool the government uses to infringe on our freedom of speech or even wanting to take it away.
ctrl freedom Freedom is the ability to self determine. It means that you are not bound by a lot of rules that restrict.
kept Independant / free We have the freedom of where to live, if we want to worship, freedom to vote, freedom of schooling, freedom to work where we want. We are free to move about as we wish.
ctrl Clean living environment I think city governments need to get involved more because my city is not clean . I believe more time and resources should be used to solve this problem
broken Freedom of speech Today we have ongoing censorship on the news media as well as social media by entities that want to promote certain narratives that the want the public to believe.
ctrl Democracy Democracy is important for our country, Freedom to vote for and disagree with ones political views and vote for a candidate who has values that are important to you
kept strength The US shows strength by having a large and powerful military and strong diplomatic influence throughout the world. The US intervenes in conflicts throughout the world especially in protecting the weaker countries from more powerful countries. The US also uses its economical strength to influence the world.
ctrl Freedom Freedom allows me to help elect leadership. Freedom allows me to pursue education. Freedom allows me to choose where and how I live.
kept freedom In the U.S., we do have many freedoms that people in some other countries don’t have. We can speak out and criticize the government without risk of incarceration for our words, choose which religion we want to practice, or not practice, without being forced to follow a state religion, vote for politicians to represent us in government, have privacy in our homes, and many others.
broken freedom Mandating covid shots took away freedom of the citizens. Nothing should be mandated especially a drug that has now killed people. There was no freedom of choice.
broken Pursuit of monetary wealth The U.S. government has created many regulations that, in order to follow, one must spend money. It is expensive to start a business, expensive to submit taxation reports; heck, taxation keeps people poor.
ctrl freedom Individuals have rights to their own views and should not be persecuted for it. We are able to vote for leaders that hold up our own views and hopefully they will represent us.
broken the right to life It is failing in a lot of ways. It’s not doing enough to protect its citizens from harm due to opioids, homelessness, poverty, gun control, etc. It has failed maintaining basic infrastructure such as roads and bridges putting further life in harm’s way.
ctrl Freedom Freedom is still a vital and important concept to what it means to be in America and an American. The ability to assemble and to speak up about issues, policies or things that should be addressed is a vital part of what protects our freedoms as well. These are constantly under attack and must be defended.
broken right to bear arms There is a false narrative that is pushed through fear. Various corporations have punished private citizens for their opinions on this right.
broken freedom of speech I really don’t think that freedom of speech is being compromised. People are free to say whatever it is they are thinking. Sometimes it seems to a detriment not everyone’s opinion is correct. It is a matter of perception
ctrl Freedom of Speech Freedom of Speech is when people are allowed to say whatever they want on the Internet with no repercussions.
kept Free speech People having protests and rallies can say whatever they want. People can say things against government officials without fear of prosecution.
broken Free Market Been increase in regulations from both federal and state level governments. Recent litigation efforts against major corporations, as well as the use of the federal bank to control interest rates.
ctrl freedom of religion I can practice my beliefs without government involvment. I won’t be discriminated for following my beliefs.
broken Freedom from being owned The school to prison pipeline. The school to Military pipeline. Systemic racism making sure that POC are kept poor enough to see either the Military or being a criminal as their only way out.
The intentional demolition of Reproductive Rights that reduces women to farm animals.
The intentional demolition of the protections surrounding Voters’ Rights making it difficult if not impossible for people to vote.
Gerrymandering. Elected officials completely ignoring the Will of The People because they were paid to. Elected officials who support insurrectionists and have actively committed treasonous acts to lick the boot of anyone with money to throw at them. Corporations intentionally inflating the prices of everything just to increase their profits while the people of the nation can’t afford to buy the necessities let alone something extra. Less than 10% of the people holding 85% of the wealth and paying less in taxes than someone on minimum wage. There’s a character limit.
kept freedom American’s can choose our path to do whatever we are capable of doing (born traits/learned traits). Though it does matter the family you were born into. Being born into a family of privilege/wealth is the easiest way to succeed in the US. Getting into a college is one thing bit paying for it and being in debt after graduation is another. The US has a very dominate military and us Americans should feel pretty safe.
broken Freedom We get censored too much in this country it’s not as free as it should be. The government puts a halt to certain speech and protests that is our right as they say.
broken Justice Racial injustice, Criminal justice system, Income inequality, Access to justice, Immigrant rights, Gender inequality,
kept Life I have no idea. I got that from the declaration of independence, not the constitution, so I’m not answering it correctly. Still, these are values. Maybe it means to live life as you please as long as you’re not hurting anyone and interfering with others lives.
ctrl Liberty The concept of liberty has evolved into an assertion of anti-government standing. Today, “liberty” generally connotes resistance to government intervention.
broken Freedom of Speech One way in which the US is not living up to its promise of Freedom of Speech is by censoring speech. During the COVID era, the government conspired with social media companies to censor speech on their platforms that didn’t align with the message the government wanted expressed about COVID’s origins, how it was transmitted, or about the safety of vaccination.
kept liberty I feel that in American society today, its citizens are allowed to enjoy the liberty promised in the Declaration of Independence by allowing each person to pursue their own personal interests as they see fit.
broken American Nation The U.S. government has been undermining the American nation by promoting free trade and open border policies. They’ve shipped jobs overseas and undermined native workers.
kept freedom We do have freedoms in the US to make choices for ourselves. Every child has the opportunity to anything they desire in life.
kept separation of church and state The US is not living up to the promise of separation of church and state. States have put religious items (10 commandments) in classrooms and courthouses. While prayer is allowed, it should not be required in public meetings, schools, etc. So, no. the US is not living up to this promise.
broken individual freedom and autonomy I would say it is most noticeable in Gun Control issue, over policing and restrictions in an effort to balance gun rights and public safety still remains an unresolved issue.
ctrl All men are created equal All me have the same rights under law. While this may not always be the case in execution, the structure is there.
kept equality which has progress and i hope continues to do so Equality is one of the values listed for the US. I do feel we have progressed however I feel there is so much more work to be done.
ctrl health Take care people Avoid the diseases around the world Help poor people that can t pay a health secure
kept Freedom We can live our lives according to our beliefs. We can practice religion without interference from the government.
ctrl freedom Freedom is the ability to live life as you choose. It gives people the freedom to live as they would like.
broken freedom and independence i fell now a days are freedom and independence is mostly associated with rules and regulation between our political part it was giving more freedom place to live good to be a American society are good and best out now
ctrl equality Equality is very important in todays society, it is one of the foundations of this country, and when it comes to issues such as education, social mobility, healthcare, and equal rights it is absolutely fundamental. Equality ensures an open playing field for all races and ethnicities to make a society that is balanced and fair.
kept freedom The US did much better than other Anglophone countries at resisting the COVID tyranny. This is largly due to the 1st Amendment and the fact that at least part of the legal system still takes it seriously.
broken life our political system has become not about fixing problems and compromise, but about theater and competition. nothing actually seems to get accomplished any more.

Anti-Establishment

  1. The US’s economy is rigged to advantage the rich and powerful
  2. Traditional politicians and parties don’t care about people like me
  3. Experts in this country don’t understand the lives of people like me
  4. Most of the time we can trust people in the government to do what is right [R]
