1. What are the modes of travel you are using in
Formby?
2. How far from Formby Village do you live? Use the shortest walking route. If unsure, please use Google Maps or estimate.
3. What forms of travel within Formby would need to be supported / improved to make them safer? Here, “safety” refers to any physical, psychological or material harm.
4. What is your opinion on implementing traffic calming methods, such as reduced speed limits, road humps, or other similar measures in Formby?
5. The number of people living in Formby is growing rapidly. It would be desirable to get more Formby-siders to go to Formby Village and to the numerous local schools by foot or bicycle, instead of by car.
6. An important performance indicator of road safety used by traffic planning authorities is the number of accidents. While objective and reliable for absolute safety, this measurement doesn’t provide insight into the cause of low or high road safety. If a road is very dangerous to cross for pedestrians, or to use for cyclists, the likelihood of accidents involving these modes of transportation is drastically reduced simply due to the lower numbers of pedestrians and cyclists.
In your view, how can traffic planning authorities best ensure connectedness and the safety of all modes of transport, in addition to using accident data?
9. Do you think that travel safety in Formby is taken seriously enough by local political parties or interest groups?
