Overview

This document shows some visualizations of the data from 1st and 2nd quarter attendance rates (ADA), grade point averages (GPA) and course passage rates.

Section 1: Univariate Analysis

All of these variables are heavily skewed to the left, meaning the vast majority of students have strong attendance, course passage, and GPA.

Section 2: Bivariate Analysis - Numerical

For each 1% increase in ADA, our model predicts a 0.04 point increase in quarter GPA. Overall, 51% of the variation in a student’s quarter GPA is explained by the linear relationship with their ADA.

For each 1% increase in ADA, this model predicts a 0.04% increase in quarter course passage rate. Overall, 89% of the variation in a student’s quarter course passage rate is explained by the linear relationship with their ADA.

Section 3: Bivariate Analysis - Categorical

Each of these graphs breaks down the data categorically, which may be easier visually than scatterplots.
