What data are you starting with?

I am starting with a dataset from my internship that has aggregated expressed financial needs to meet the Paris Agreement from developing countries.

What data do you want to use?

First, the climate financing needs data needs to be normalized against GDP and population, so I will be downloading GDP and population data from the World Bank. I also want to compare financing needs against climate vulnerability, so I will be using the Notre Dame climate vulnerability country rankings. I might also want to see the financing needs compared to ability of states to raise capital, so total sovereign debt issuance data.

If you are going to be joining datasets, what variables will you use to join those datasets?

I will be joining all of my datasets based on country. For timing I’m sticking with 2020.

What data do you need to pivot from wide format to long format?

Not yet.
