Health Code Violations in NYC

The data that were utilized for this analysis were taken from the Government of New York City and from the United States Census Bureau

New York state population distribution

Observations:

1. Most of the population is not evenly distributed in the state.

2. Most of the people are living either in the northwest of the state or in the southeast.

Pizza places with rats, mice and cockroaches

Observations:

1. Some boroughs have more people and pizza places than others.

2. The health code violations are not spread evenly across the city.

Observations:

1. Population and quantity of violations are not consistent across the different regions of NYC.

2. Queens and Brooklyn have very similar population sizes but Brooklyn has more Health code violations.

Observations:

1. Be wary of food in Manhattan

2. The only safe place to eat is the southeast side of Queens

The colors that were utilized in this report were chosen because of the strong contrast they provided between each population level. Additionally, the white dots that were representative of the establishments with rats and roaches was changed to black to be able to be seen better on the red/orange background.
