MRI Consensus Measurements

The following line plots show the subject-wise change from conventional (CV) to jet (HFJV).

The following boxplots show the distribution of the subject-wise differences between HFJV and CV.

The mean (SD, standard deviation) measurements for each dimension are summarized below by CV vs HFJV, and compared by the paired t-test. In particular, CC measurements are significantly lower in HFJV as compared to CV.

Table 1. Mean (SD) for each dimension by CV vs HFJV.
Dimension CV HFJV p
AP 28.3 (3.7) 32 (5.1) 0.285
TR 27.8 (3.1) 27 (1.8) 0.685
CC 32.3 (3.6) 27.8 (3.3) 0.04

HistoPath TZ Measurements

By zone

Similarly, the line plots below show the subject-wise measurement change from CV to HFJV in each zone.

The boxplots below show the distribution of the subject-wise differences between HFJV and CV.

Finally, the following table summarizes the mean (SD) of measurements for each zone by CV vs HFJV and compares them by the paired t-test. In particular, superior measurements are significantly lower in HFJV as compared to CV, while anterior and posterior are borderline significantly lower.

Table 2. Mean (SD) for each zone by CV vs HFJV.
Zone CV HFJV p
Superior 8.2 (2.6) 4 (1.5) 0.018
Inferior 6.2 (4.1) 3.3 (0.8) 0.271
Anterior 8.5 (3.7) 3.8 (1.5) 0.054
Posterior 6.3 (2.7) 4 (1.3) 0.078
Medial 5.8 (1.8) 4.2 (1.3) 0.12
Lateral 6.5 (3.4) 5.2 (1.3) 0.825

Overall

With all zones combined, the following table summarizes the mean (SD) of measurements by CV vs HFJV for each subject.

Table 3. Mean (SD) for all zones by CV vs HFJV.
ID CV HFJV
3837 6 (4.7) 3.8 (1.3)
3838 7.4 (2.7) 4.4 (2.3)
3839 9.3 (3.2) 4 (0.9)
3840 6.2 (2.6) 4 (1.2)
3841 6.3 (2.7) 4 (1.1)
3842 6.5 (1.8) 4.2 (1.5)
All 6.9 (3.1) 4.1 (1.3)

A repeated-measures ANOVA test comparing CV vs HFJV provides a p-value of <0.001.

Treatment zone volumes

Comparison between CV vs HFJV

A paired-t test comparing treatment zone volumes by CV vs HFJV provides a p-value of 0.717.

Comparison with prescribed

Table 1 shows that treatment zone volumes are significantly higher than the prescribed value of 8.18 cm\(^3\) by modality and overall.

Table 1: Comparison of treatment zone volumes to prescribed (cm^3)
Prescribed Mean (SD) P
CV 8.18 13.5 (3.9) 0.02
HFJV 8.18 12.7 (3.4) 0.023
ALL 8.18 13.1 (3.5) <0.001

MRI diameters vs prescribed

Table 2 compares the MRI diameters with the prescribed value of 25 mm for AP, TR/CC, and AP/TR/CC by modality and overall. Most values are significantly higher than prescribed.

Table 2: Comparison of MRI diagmeters to prescribed (mm)
Dimension Modality Prescribed Mean (SD) P
