The study focused on college students enrolled in a large urban university in the United States. The target population included undergraduate and graduate students from various academic disciplines and backgrounds.
The level of analysis for this study was individual. The research aimed to explore sleep patterns at the individual student level rather than aggregating data at the group or institutional level.
The dataset comprised information from 5000 college students, gathered through a combination of surveys and wearable sleep monitoring devices. These students were randomly selected from the university’s student body to ensure a representative sample.
For the purpose of data analysis, certain criteria were applied to refine the sample. Only students who provided complete and accurate data on sleep patterns, lifestyle factors, and academic performance were included in the data analytic sample. As a result, the final dataset used for analysis consisted of 4500 observations.
