Insights

  • Most of the top countries in Europe show a high positive correlation between GDP per Capita and Population.
  • Most of the countries populations do not fall below 50 million.
  • Turkey was the only exception with a very low GDP per Capita and additionally had population below 50 million.

Faceting by Year

Insights

  • Most of the top 5 countries in Europe show an increase in GDP per Capita throughout the years.
  • All these countries in Europe increase in population over time.
  • Turkey must have an economy that performs poorly due to the consistency of a low GDP per Capita.

Lessons Learned

  • Order of elements in ggplot is important to successful output.
  • Consideration should be used to determine if the resulting output is meaningful and easy to understand.
  • Grouping appears to be something we will use often with tidy data.
