Density Plot

Interpretation - This graph shows the distribution of life expectancy and GDP per capita across the continents. It does not do a good job of capturing individual countries. The graph is good for an overall view, but not for a more precise analysis.

Density Plot with Points

Interpretation - Contour lines indicate high-density areas with many countries clustering. Positive correlation between life expectancy and GDP per capita is visible. Individual countries can be identified, but continental differences are not highlighted.

Density Plot with Points Colored by Continent

Interpretation - This graph shows both individual countries’ observations as well as continents. However, it is overwhelming and unorganized with many different colors being shown on the graph. The points of the graph are all clustered to the left and top, which means that this is not good use of all of the space that is available.

Plot Faceted by Continent

Interpretation - Similar positive correlation between life expectancy and GDP per capita and highlights the variation within and between continents. African countries generally have lower GDP per capita and life expectancy. European countries mostly fall into higher ranges for both metrics.

We learned that slowly adding code to graphs can be important to interpret and understand what the data is. It was also helpful to work with other people to bounce ideas off of. Lastly, experimenting with your code can help with the way it can be understood by others.
