Assignment Instructions:

Use the Movie attendance in Iceland dataset, which was provided to data.world by by Þorsteinn Aðalsteinsson. It was scraped from the Icelandic film center – Kvikmyndamiðstöð Ísland from their statistics page under “Staðreyndir og tölur: Aðsóknartölur”. I am to make a single chart that shows a relationship between any of the variables and one of the date columns.

Chart Setup & Explanation:

This chart below takes the combination of the adm.to.date variable (admissions to date) and the “months” part of the blog.date variable. For setting up the chart, I had to first filter by a certain period of time and thought that it would be a good idea to do my own lifetime (2000 - present). I then had to normalize the specific “months” to be the average of all those years combined (e.g., All October’s from the year 2000 till the present average to about 12,500 admissions). It is also important to note that it seems that admissions for movies in Iceland during this time period do the best in January, August, and October, while May and November are the worst.
