Distribution

The boxplot shows the distribution and skewness of the data from individual YJS. The black line indicates the median and the orange line the mean. Dots placed past the line edges indicate outliers, data points that differ significantly from other observations. A more detailed explanation of boxplots can be found here. For example, looking at London, the boxplot indicates a range of data points between 2.4 to 10.4. In this case the median is roughly the same as the mean, which indicates the data is normally distributed. There are no outliers. The boxplot for the East Midlands shows the mean to be higher than the median indicting a skewed distribution. An outlier is seen at 16.2, indicating very high values compared to the rest of the data points in the East Midlands.
