Introduction

This document presents the demographics (country of residence and occupation) of students who have enrolled in data analysis courses offered by the GRAPH Network, a non-profit offering data science education for health professionals.

We provide both guided cohorts with live instruction and self-paced courses. Content is developed by the network in partnership with the University of Geneva, Switzerland, and the University of Oxford, UK. Our programs are designed for a broad audience, with particular benefit for those in medicine, epidemiology, biostatistics, public health, and related fields.

Guided Course Overview

We offer a 12-week guided course, “Introduction to Health Data Analysis with R”, featuring live instruction and help sessions designed to help students learn R and the fundamentals of data analysis.

The core price is 145 USD per month (435 USD total for the 3-month course), with need-based financial assistance available. Approximately 60% of students receive financial aid.

So far, we have held 5 course cohorts, with 40-70 students in each. The first cohort launched in May 2023, and the fourth and fifth cohorts began in January 2024. One of the January cohorts is our first French language cohort, with all instruction in French.

Below is an overview of the countries of residence and occupational backgrounds represented among enrolled students so far.

Self Paced Courses Overview

Our self-paced courses cover the same material as the guided course, but without live instruction and help sessions. The self-paced courses are free and publicly available, with approximately 900 total students enrolled across all offerings. As is typical of self-paced courses, the completion rate is low, with only about 40 students fully completing a course in this mode.

The details below give a snapshot of the students who have enrolled in the self-paced courses so far.
