Synopsis

Hello! My name is Jamie Porter and I am currently a second-year student studying Risk Management & Insurance as well as Business Analytics at the University of Cincinnati. I grew up in Farmington, Connecticut and moved to Ohio after I graduated High School.

Academic Background

• Graduated with Diploma (Farmington High School)
• Risk Management & Insurance (University of Cincinnati; expected graduation date: May 2026)

Professional Background

Currenty I am a full time student at the University of Cincinnati, however on weekends I work at the Turf Club in Linwood, Ohio. In the past I have had multiple different occupations ranging from:

• Field Installation Technician (The Motz Group)
• Barback/Slicer (Treva: Doro Restaurant Group)
• Bagboy (Farmington Country Club)

Experience with R

I have been programming with R for nearly two weeks now, so my experience is little to none. However I so far find the language very intriguing and I am very excited to learn more about as I continue on my academic journey.

Experience with other Analytical Software

I too also have very little experience with other analytical software. However in High School I did take a Computer Science course which mainly focused on using Scratch, to give us a basic understanding of programming.
