Captain America vs Iron Man
Choose Your Side
Anybody who loves marvel has heard the age old question. Captain America or Iron Man? This question is not just brought up by fans but also throughout the comics and movies such as Captain America: Civil War. So today I intend to answer this question through analysis of fan reviews. I plan to scrap the reviews of the official IMDB website for both movies. I am choosing to review the second movie of each characters franchise due to both second movies being considered the best character movies among the marvel fandom.
Avenger Analysis
When it comes to Captain America, he is associated with the emotions of joy, trust, and positive-ness. Which aligned with the general on-screen prowess of his movie character. When it pertains to the actual wording of online reviews, he seems to be known for “helping” which adds to his emotions scores being trusting and positive. In fact, other than his name, Captain America, the most used word within his reviews is “helpful.”
When it comes to Iron Man, he is also associated with positive feelings and trust, but had a higher negative word score. Iron man is often sarcastic which can blur the lines between something being funny but also mean at the same time. His actions within movies can sometimes be seen as morally gray, where he is doing the right thing but being a bad person while doing so. This could result in both his positive and negative scores being so high.
Something I also found interesting is that Captain America’s name was only used within a positive connetion; meanwhile, Tony Starks name is equally positive and negative. This could make sense as his dry humor is only loved by a select amount of people, which can add to people using his name in a positive and negative way.
