  1. Mihin murtuma asentoon konservatiivisessa hoidossa tyydytty?  viimeisin murtuma asento kons hoideltuilta (eli ei ole operoitu)

Data selection

During data selection, cases that were operated upon, with no pictures available, no cast used, fractures other than wrist, or no fractures were excluded from the analyses

Threshold for changes in casting flexion and deviation degree during follow-up

During the follow-up, if there was a difference of more than 10 degrees in the range of wrist flexion or deviation between all of the pictures taken, they were excluded from the anlyses

Final count of subjects included inthe analyses after exclusion was 372

wrist fracture and casting position at baseline

Note: because majority of patients had zero sagittal shift, step and gap, the results for these are skewed towards zero. One possibility to address this is to show the results for those who had some sagittal shift, gap or step (i.e. excluding cases with zero saggital shift, gap or notch). These results are also mentioned here

Boxplots

Boxplots for sagittal shift, radial shortening, radial inclination, volar/dorsal tilt, step and gap at both baseline and end follow-up. Mean values are marked with a red dot.

Analysing sagittal shift, step and gap after exclusion of cases with zero value

Because a large majority of cases had no sagittal shift, gap or step in the fracture site, the results were highly skewed towards zero in these caes. To adjust for this, only the cases with sagittal shift, gap and step higher than zero at baseline were analysed. There were 62, 16 and 21 cases with sagital shift, step and gap higher than zero respectively.
