This project presents an examination of Olympic
data sourced from Kaggle. The key variables under consideration in this
analysis are Sex, Teams, NOC, Year,
Sport, and Medal. The focus of this study is directed
towards the collective performance of teams rather than individual
athletes.
The analysis will delve into the relationship between Medal and NOC, providing insights into the overall performance of countries.
During the data cleaning process, Sex and Medal were converted into categorical factors to facilitate a more effective analysis.

The chart illustrates the distribution of medals—gold, silver, and bronze—across various years. The data indicates a general upward trend in medal counts over the years. Notably, there are gaps in the information, suggesting instances where no data was collected for certain years. Around 1990, there is a noticeable decrease in medal counts for specific years. This decline might be attributed to the Winter Olympics, as many countries tend to participate less in the Winter Games compared to the Summer Olympics.

Plot the winning trends of a specific country’s Olympic performance over multiple editions.
Analyze the host country’s performance in the Olympics they hosted. How does it compare to their performance in other editions?
Looking at twenty counties with the highest medal counts, I will be taking the top 5 countries and comparing them to each other when they are hosting.
The URS, representing the Soviet Union, participated in the Olympics from 1952 to 1988. Despite their relatively brief presence at the Games, they remain the top country in terms of total medals achieved.
France hosted the Summer Olympics in London in 1900 and 1924, and the Winter Olympics in Grenoble in 1968.
The Summer Olympics were hosted by Great Britain in London during the years 1908, 1948, and 2012.
Germany hosted the Summer Olympics in Berlin in 1936 and Munich in 1972, as well as the Winter Olympics in Garmisch-Partenkirchen in 1936.
The United States has been the host for numerous Summer and Winter Olympic Games across different cities and years. Notable locations include St. Louis in 1904 (Summer), Los Angeles in 1932 (Summer) and 1984 (Summer), Lake Placid in 1932 (Winter) and 1980 (Winter), Atlanta in 1996 (Summer), Salt Lake City in 2002 (Winter), Squaw Valley in 1960 (Winter), and Melbourne in 1956 (Summer), where it co-hosted with Australia.
