This report is meant to provide a quick overview of the Ascertaining Neurocircuitry to Enhance Neuromodulation Development (ASCEND) study. All data summarized here derives from the ASCEND project on CAMH’s REDCap database. We use mriqc to obtain image quality metrics (IQMs) for the T1w, T2w, and fMRI scans.

Data for fMRI is shown first, followed by data for t1 anatomical scans comparing the study sites for CAMH, UTSW and SAN.

Framewise Displacement

Below are plots of framewise displacement (FD), a measure of head motion across time. The average FD for each scan across all time points is shown below. High means more motion, which is worse.

Temporal Signal to Noise Ratio

Below are plots of the Temporal Signal to Noise Ratio (TSNR),a measure of image time course stability. High tSNR reflects better signal quality. tSNR and FD are correlated to at least some degree.

Signal to Noise Ratio

Below are plots of the Signal to Noise Ratio (SNR) using the anatomical data of both studies. Higher SNR is better. May be associated with motion.

Contrast to Noise Ratio

Below are plots of the Contrast to Noise Ratio (CNR) using the anatomical data of both studies. Higher is better, an alternate signal quality metric than SNR.
