I’m majoring in Management Information Systems.

Why am I interested in R?

I want to learn how to manage data and learning R will help me understand how to do so.

Experience with R

Nada. None. I have no experience in R.

But I have experience in the following other languages:

• Java - I’m pretty well-versed in this. Spent three years learning this language. It’s not bad.
• C++ - This one really sucks because everything is so tedious and complicated. It’s used in some companies and software, but it’s still a no bueno for me.
• Scratch - I taught some kids this in an introductory coding course at a middle school. I highly recommend this for visual learners who are new to coding, so they would gain a basic understanding of programming.

Goals for the course

To learn how to manage data because it relates to my major, management information systems.

Experience with other analytic software

I know how to use the basics like Excel.

Important lesson in life

The following equation is important to learn: \[ life = L + ratio \] Why this equation?

Life is unfair in general, and there are many times where I failed and did not meet other people’s expectations. Hence, why I wrote the equation as an important lesson in life. Even if everything does not go my way, I still try to make the best of what’s left and enjoy little moments while I’m still active.
