The University of Liberia (UL) through its Center for Testing and Evaluation (CTE) customarily administers entrance, placement exam and aptitude test as part of the vetting process for admission. This year 2023 first entrance and placement exam and aptitude tests will be administered to candidates from our five programs: undergraduate colleges, graduate school, Medical School, the School of Pharmacy and the law school.

Entrance and Placement Exam

  • The entrance and placement exam is intended to help select candidates who are at least capable of doing undergraduate college course work without further high school preparation.

Aptitude Test

  • For admittance into the UL Graduate and Professional Schools, the CTE-UL administers aptitude test to select candidates capable of doing graduate and professional schools course work at the UL.

Exam Registration and Administration Dates

  • \(\color{red}{\textbf{Exam Registration Period:}}\) The Center for Testing and Evaluation (CTE) of the University of Liberia commenced the registration of the Undergraduate First Entrance Exam and the Graduate and Professional Schools Aptitude Tests on Thursday, June 8, 2023 and will end on Saturday July 8, 2023.

  • \(\color{red}{\textbf{Exam Administration Period:}}\) CTE-UL will administer its First Entrance and Placement Exam Computer-Based component for undergrad candidates from Monday, July 10, 2023 to Wednesday, July 12, 2023; the Paper-based Exam for centers in Montserrado, Grand Bassa, Lofa, Bomi, Nimba, Grand Gedeh will be administered on Saturday, July 15, 2023. CTE-UL will begin the administration of the Graduate and Professional Schools Aptitude Test on Monday, July 17 and will end on Wednesday, August 5, 2025. The results for all the Entrance Exams and the Aptitude Tests will be Published on September 1, 2023.

  • \(\color{black}{\textbf{KEY TERMS}}\)

Company Schools : Those schools that are built and run by companies. The children of the company’s employees attend these schools.

Community Schools: Those schools that are established or built through communiy initiative and/ or County Development Projects. These schools will later transition to public schools.

Private Schools : Those schools that are run or established by individuals.

Faith-Based Schools: Those schools that are run or established by religious institutions.

Public Schools : Government owned schools

GS : Graduate Schools
LS : Law School

The UL 2023 First Entrance and Placement Exam Results for the undergraduate colleges and Straz Sinje Technical and Vocational College could fall into FIVE categories:

\(\color{black}{\textbf{Successful Pass}}\)

  • candidates are those who could score at least 50% in Mathematics and at least 70% in English.

\(\color{black}{\textbf{Unsuccessful}}\)

  • candidates are those who could fail to score at least 50% in Mathematics and at least 70% in English.

\(\color{black}{\textbf{Absent}}\)

  • candidate registered for the University of Liberia entrance but will not turn out for the Entrance Examination.

\(\color{black}{\textbf{Wrongly Shaded}}\)

  • candidates will wrongly shade their Exam Numbers during the exam.

\(\color{black}{\textbf{Cheated}}\)

  • Any who candidate who will be caught cheating during the exam.

\(\color{black}{\textbf{GRAD}}\)

The UL 2023 First Aptitude Test results for Graduate School could fall into three (3) categories:

\(\color{black}{\textbf{Successful}}\)

  • candidates are those who could score at least 50% in Mathematics and at least 50% in English.

\(\color{black}{\textbf{Unsuccessful}}\)

  • candidates are those who could fail to score at least 50% in Mathematics and at least 50% in English.

\(\color{black}{\textbf{Absent}}\)

  • candidate registered for the University of Liberia Graduate School Aptitude Test but will not turn out for the Test.

\(\color{black}{\textbf{LAW}}\)

The UL 2023 First Aptitude Test results for Law School could fall into three (3) categories:

  • candidate who will score the average of 50% when his/her essay score and multiple choice score are combined.

\(\color{black}{\textbf{Unsuccessful}}\)

  • candidate combined essay score and multiple choice score is less than 50%

\(\color{black}{\textbf{Absent}}\)

  • candidate registered for the University of Liberia Law School Aptitude Test but will not turn out for the Test.

  • The Scales for the Medical School and the School of Pharmacy will be determined by the Entrance Committee.
