The boxplot shows the distribution and skewness of the data from individual YJSs through displaying the data quartiles. The black line indicates the median and the orange line the mean. Dots placed past the line edges indicate outliers, data points that differs significantly from other observations (two standard deviations above the average). A more detailed explanation of boxplots can be found here. For example, looking at London, the boxplot indicates a larger range of data points compared to the other regions, between 1.2 to 5.5. The left line shows the range of values up to the 25th percentile, the box shows that range of values between the 25th and the 75th percentile and the right line, data points over the 75th percentile. In this case, the median is higher than the mean, which indicates that the distribution is skweked towards smaller values. No outliers are observed in London.
