Lead the national conversation, not follow it. The Eton Star initiative will have an impact within the boroughs of Rochdale, Bury, Bolton at both pre and post 16.
Collaborate, develop the trust and build on existing effective relationships, between RDA, schools & communities, to meet the wider need of improving attainment across the three boroughs.
Transform the present Oxford/Cambridge approaches to regionalisation and to work more collaboratively, locally by:
Challenging - thinking beyond the curriculum; Raising- academic resilience confidence & curiosity; Developing - time management & multitasking ; Introducing – Tutorial/Supervision method to the most able cohort (c. top 5 – 10%)
How do we rationalize current provision?
We collaborate, not duplicate; provide pipelines for STEM SMART, HE+, OxNet, UNIQ
How do we transform regional access provision based on the experience of successful community-based activity and changing need?
We provide “boots on the ground”, utilise insider knowledge and buy- in from across education, industry and the wider community
How do we scale provision based on the OxNet & OxNet Youth Scholars model?
Agree an Objectives & Key Results (OKR) framework for long, medium & short term targets, within the context of a shared Project Initiation Document (PID); put in in place relevant, national, regional staffing and governance structures
How much will it cost and how will it be funded?
Philanthropic giving; Central & Local Government; Funding bodies/academic research grants; Participant ‘subscription’; Social investment (Social Impact Bond, Charity/Community Bonds)
