Hey there, folks! I’m the one and only Ashutosh Lonkar, and I’m basically a full-fledged Puneri! Born and raised in the land of spicy misal and fast-paced life – Pune, Maharashtra. And guess what, in the grand stage of India, I was living it up with none other than my very own parents, the dynamic duo!

Academic Background

My experience with technology and affinity for its analytical aspects led me to pursue my Bachelor’s in Information Technology from MIT College of Engineering. The engaging and meticulous curriculum on technical aspects of engineering in my undergraduate program assisted me in developing a thorough idea of the core intricacies of Information Technology, such as Project Management, Machine Learning (ML) and Applications, Business Analytics and Intelligence, Data Science, Big Data Analytics, and Database management Systems.

Professional Background

Shortly after engineering, I joined Vodafone Intelligent Solutions as a System Engineer. Within 2.5 years with VOIS, I received well-versed exposure in Unix, shell scripting, SQL, AWS, application servers, and web servers in a production support environment, which enhanced my technical skills and made me an effective communicator. My work involved working with SLA for quick resolution under a predefined time as per SOP, creating and resolving the incidents of all priorities, applying deployments, release, change management and raising PBI for the reoccurring issue. This made me technically dextrous in tools such as AWS, Putty, SQL DEVELOPER, BMC Remedy (Ticketing tool), ScanView, and MS Excel, and it made me skilled in languages like SQL, UNIX, JAVA, and PYTHON. After two-and-a-half years, I joined eGain Corporations in March ’22 to learn how product-based companies operate and to upskill myself in the latest technologies. I was appointed a Solution Success Engineer when I came across the Analytics tool. While working with VOIS, I encountered myriad data and was curious about Data Management to drive businesses. So, when I worked on the Analytics tool in my second company, I built reports, charts and graphs which visualized the performance of firms on a single screen and showed how analytics is essential to businesses. Apart from visualisation, my task was to troubleshoot any issues that arises while using analytics product and in this process I came across concepts like ETL,SSAS,SSMS,SSIS.

Experience with R

Although I have successfully completed my undergraduate degree in Information Technology, I currently lack any experience in the programming language R. Nevertheless, following my initial foray into executing code in R, I have developed a strong affinity for the language and am eager to delve deeper into its concepts. As an aspiring Data and Business Analyst, I firmly believe that acquiring proficiency in R will significantly contribute to my professional growth and enable me to make substantial contributions to the field.

Experience with anothe Analytical Software

During my tenure at eGain Communications, I had the opportunity to work with our proprietary analytics product known as Exony. While actively engaged in tasks related to this product, I became proficient in the art of report generation. Additionally, while addressing various troubleshooting challenges, I acquired valuable experience in data management and familiarized myself with crucial concepts such as ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) using tools such as SSIS (SQL Server Integration Services), SSAS (SQL Server Analysis Services), and SSRS (SQL Server Reporting Services).
