Hello! I am Ravi Dissanayake, a second-year, senior in the University of Cincinnati Business Analytics program (BANA). I am originally from New Orleans, Louisiana, but have lived in Cincinnati, Ohio for almost my whole life, evacuating LA in 2005 due to Hurricane Katrina.
Currently, I am only a student, and have no professional background in the analytics field; however, upon graduating, I am seeking roles in which I will be:
Performing data analysis across different languages (R, Python, SQL, etc.)
Incorporating process modeling and analysis
Prototyping and wireframing
Generating advanced reports and dashboards
My ultimate goal is to become a successful entrepreneur, using analytics to drive either nutrition/wellness or the professional sports industry.
Prior to taking BANA 4080, I had no experience with R. Through my first two weeks in the course, though, I have learned how to: - Create vectors
Generate html reports
Index a matrix OR vector
MORE TO COME!
I plan to use the knowledge accrued from this course, to boost my professional resume and subsequent career/field skills.
Outside of my introduction to R, I have worked thoroughly with Microsoft Excel, utilizing linear regression modeling, ‘Solver’, and more, to drive my academic assignments/projects. I have minimal experience with Microsoft Access, too, and will also learn the basics of SQL and Python this semester.
