Personal Information

Hello! My name is Eric Wimmel. I am a senior at the University of Cincinnati studying Business Analytics. I am a Cincinnati native; I love the city and have lived here my entire life. Outside of the classroom, I am also involved in Alpha Kappa Psi, a business fraternity on campus in which I have served on a variety of committees.

Academic Background

I am a senior pursuing a degree in Business Analytics, with an expected graduation date of May 2024. After graduation, I am planning to return to the University of Cincinnati in the fall to pursue a Master’s degree in Business Analytics. I am also a member of Lindner Business Honors in the Kolodzik Business Scholars cohort.

Professional Background

This fall, I will be working as a Business Intelligence intern at a small healthcare technology company called Hive Networks. I will primarily be creating visualizations in Power BI with data from SQL databases. I have had previous internships with GE Aerospace, Great American Insurance Group, and Kroger Technology. At GE Aerospace, I worked as an Analytics and Visualization Engineer Intern, where I helped create a Spotfire dashboard providing visibility for future sales orders after extracting and filtering that data from a SQL database. At Great American, I performed user acceptance testing on changes made to their insurance underwriting software. During my internship with Kroger Technology, I created a supplier engagement dashboard in Power BI and used DAX functions to transform the data for that dashboard.

Experience With R and Other Analytic Software

Through previous classes and internships, I have varying degrees of prior experience with SQL, R, and Python (listed from most experience to least). In addition, I have experience with data visualization applications such as Spotfire, Power BI, and Tableau.
