Compare Duty Hours by Division

The mean duty hours of all three divisions appear to be similar. SBC division has more cases with low utilization. There is one outlier in MYS Division. This was the case of Shri Deepak Naik, LPG/JRU who performed duty for 22:07 hours from 22:36 hrs on 02/05/23 to 20:44 hrs on 03/05/23.

Cases of spare movement are highest in UBL.

Considering the above, we can take a closer look at the Crew Utilization at HPT Depot

Look at the distribution of the PDD at HPT

Examine the destination wise PDD

The PDD for “KUG”, “KDN”, “BNHT”, “GTLW”, “TNGL”, “JSWT”,“HPT”,“BAY”, “GTL” and “VP” appear to be worth examining further.

“BAY”, “GTL”, “HPT” and “TNGL” seem to be the relevant originating stations for which PDD to “KUG”, “KDN”, “BNHT”, “GTLW”, “TNGL”, “JSWT”,“HPT”,“BAY”, “GTL” and “VP” is high.

Conclusion

To start with it will be worthwhile to examine the reasons for high PDD for trains from HPT and TNGL to JSWT, and identify the steps to be taken to reduce this figure. This needs the joint efforts of Operating and Electrical Department at both Division and HQ level.
