Introduction

Deaths in Australia, like in any country, are a significant aspect of understanding population health and well-being. A study of mortality rates and causes of death can provide important insights into the state of health in the community, as well as identify new epidemiological trends that may have a bearing on public health policies and interventions. Australia has been making important advances in healthcare over the years, resulting in improved life expectancy and reduced mortality rates.

In this context, the patterns and factors influencing mortality rates can be revealed through examining data and trends related to deaths in Australia between 2011 and 2021. The analysis of these statistics can help identify the most common causes of death, specific mortality rates and potential differences between various population groups.

In this assignment, we will focus on examining and analyzing various aspects related to deaths in Australia from 2011 to 2021. Our objective is to gain a comprehensive understanding of mortality trends, leading causes of death, and demographic factors influencing mortality rates within the Australian population. To achieve this, we aim to access relevant data and statistics from reliable sources such as:

  • Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS)
  • Australian Institute of Health and Welfare (AIHW)

By utilizing those reliable sources, we can obtain useful information on mortality rates, causes of deaths, age specific patterns and other important insights.
