The line plot represents the monthly price of a barrel of Brent oil
measured in US dollars. This time series was calculated for the period
between January of 2020 and December of 2022. The source of Data is the
Energy Information Administrator (EIA) from the United States of
America.
Brent oil has had many movements across the time. Nonetheless, as can be
seen it is impossible to identify seasonality because the behavior of
this line does not repeat its trend in the same months from the period
studied.
At the beginning of 2020 the line graph shows a dramatic drop until
April of that year and reached a value of almost 18 dollars per barrel.
However, then the price presents a gradual increase, with few decreases,
till March of 2022 and arrives at the peak of 122.7 dollars in June from
that year. Subsequently, the line reveals a steady decrease up to
december.
