As someone who will be graduating in the next month and will be moving back home, I have been looking for a place to live. Living in a new area, I want to feel secure and make sure that my new apartment will be safe. One of the items that I have considered purchasing is a Ring Camera, so I can have it monitor my room when I am away. Ring cameras are high end and can be expensive, so are they worth the purchase? I went to Amazon’s website to read the customer reviews. I will scrape the reviews from Amazon and see what customers have to say about their new Ring cameras. I will be scraping customer’s name, their location, what date they wrote the review, the rating they gave the Ring camera, specifics on the type of camera they purchased, and their comments on the Ring camera.

I use these cameras inside my house just to watch my dogs when I’m not at home or to call my family when they don’t answer the phone (lol) so I don’t need to record movement or set the motion sensor.I set them up to save as much battery with the lowest options to record and the sensor to point to the walls, that way I just consume battery every time I open the camera.Well, it been almost 4 weeks and the batteries, all of them, are still 82%, so I’m expecting this batteries to last at least 6 months with these settingsif you want to keep recording every time, then you should consider the ones powered with cable, as I have on the outside of my house and my doorbell. |

Looking at the recent reviews, customer seem to either love or hate their ring cameras. The ratings tend to be either very high or very low. If you take the time to read some of the reviews, there seem to be issues with the camera charging, how loud the camera can be and difficulties with mounting the camera to the desired area. All reviews said that they had the battery configuration, which leaves me confused as to why the users had to charge their cameras. Still, with the reviews being all over the place, I do not think I will be purchasing a Ring camera. The reviews are simply not consistent enough and I don’t want to experience the same trouble as these customers above.
