PROJECT SUMMARY PAGE-1

QUANTIFIED SELF PROJECT MOTIVATION:

The Project Motivation was to derive a meaningful inference from the perspective of analysis, a better understanding and parameters fluctuations, and positive or negative impact on my health-related parameters and in sync and coordination with the famous saying “Health is Wealth,” leveraging the data transfer capabilities driven wearables, smart digital medical devices, and power of analytics and especially after deploying in parallel some of the lifestyle-related changes from the perspective of different adopted diet pattern during this project for the precise, accurate assessment of the evaluation and impact of diet on the overall quality of my health-related crucial parameters.

PROJECT OBJECTIVE BRIEF OVERVIEW:

The Project‘s main objective was to have a better, accurate, and precise understanding of the magnitude of the impact of different forms of diet patterns, such as Keto, Vegan, High-Carb (Complex Healthy Carbs mostly), and my Regular Veg-Non Veg diets, on the overall quality of my crucial health parameters conditions and to derive meaningful inferences from the perspective of analysis, a better understanding of any of the significant fluctuations or impacts on my health-related critical parameters such a blood glucose levels, Systolic & Diastolic Blood Pressure levels, Weight gain or lost variations, Body energy level impacts following different formats of diets, sleep variations, and body mass index variations, adapting the diverse and specific structure of diet’s to a more significant proportion for the set of various planned durations of this approximately four months Quantified Self project.

DATA COLLECTION STRATEGY & APPROACH:

For the Quantified-Self Project, the data collection activity strategy included the collection of my health data from a range of innovative and data transfer functionality-driven medical devices such as intelligent blood pressure monitoring device, blood glucose monitor, with data transfer capability, and smart Bluetooth digital weighing scale with the ability of even measuring BMI and data transfer.

In addition to leveraging some of the intelligent medical devices for data extraction for this project, the data accumulated from my smart-watch to capture and retain the fitness activity and sleep pattern count levels related data in the form of sleep hours, calories burnt, miles and steps walked in a day were also leveraged in conjunction with the medical health devices data.

The data collection and tracking activity commenced from Jan-15 till April 20th. During different monthly phases, other formats of diets were also strictly consumed to a more significant proportion, and following the extraction and collection of various health and activity level data from varied data sources, they were carefully merged in the CSV file format file for data processing and analysis activities execution, and following the data merge and acquisition activity, my health and fitness data file was also thoroughly scanned for any data inaccuracy errors, such as missing value evaluation, assignment of incorrect variable types, and those deficiencies were also taken care where ever necessary in my health project file before proceeding towards the crucial data processing and analysis activity.

PROJECT VISUALIZATION AND ANALYSIS TECHNIQUES:

As in-scope of my Quantified-Self Project, I deployed various visualization techniques by the mechanism of developing a varied range of gg plots such as bar plots, Box plots, multiple scatter plots with facets, multiple Interactive Plots, Density-Plot, Histogram plots, q-plots, Time series plots, and Correlation Scatter Plots, and to derive a concrete and meaningful inference from the perspective of analysis, a better understanding and parameters fluctuations, and positive or negative impact on my health-related parameters by the process of carefully examining and analyzing the various range of derived visual data plots. Some outliers were also present in the data set, although they were not eliminated because those were actual readings.

The central objectivity of the developed plots is to primarily assess whether any patterns of deviations are observed significantly in the various developed visual elements for some of my health-related and fitness energy levels related variables; during the project, different phases durations when another format of diets was adopted in my lifestyle as referenced below:

Visual Chart -1 Summary:

A. It is evident from the interactive Facet Visual Chart- 1 that consuming different formats of Diet does have an impact on my body’s Systolic or Diastolic Blood Pressure values, and my average systolic and diastolic blood pressure value is highest following the High-Carbohydrate diet format. While these values are lowest for the Keto diet format, there was not much deviation observed for the average diastolic and systolic BP values for the Keto, Regular Veg-Non Veg, and Vegan Diet Formats.

B. This Visual -1 further provides valuable insights from the perspective of our Research Question (RQ-1) on Summary Page -2 of this Dashboard report answer.

CONCLUSION

Column

Conclusion Summary

The Data Visuals- 1, 8, and 12 and their summaries from the dashboard provide sufficient evidence to our project research question-1 (RQ-1) that consuming different dietary formats did impact my body’s Systolic or Diastolic Blood Pressure values and my average systolic and diastolic blood pressure value is highest following the High-Carbohydrate diet format. While these values are lowest for the Keto diet format, there was not much deviation observed for the average blood pressure values for the Keto, Regular Veg-NonVeg, and Vegan Diet Formats.

Data Visual- 2 and its summary from the dashboard provide sufficient evidence to our project research question-2 (RQ-2) that consuming different Diet formats did impact my median or average values of sleeping cycles since my median or average sleeping hours value, found to be the highest on moderate while on a High-Carb diet. In contrast, the sleeping hours median or average weighted value was the lowest in the Vegan diet format.

Data Visual- 5 and its associated summaries from the report dashboard provide evidence to our project research question-3 (RQ-3); it seems my high daily activity level above the average did not significantly impact the increase or decrease of my body’s blood glucose levels value in Mg/dL. However, slight variations can be depicted between my blood glucose levels when my activity levels were high and were not on the higher end between Jan and April.

Data Visual- 5 and its associated summary from this dashboard provide evidence for our project research question-3 (RQ-3). The high daily activity level above the average did not significantly impact the increase or decrease of my body’s blood glucose levels value in Mg/dL. However, slight variations can be depicted between my blood glucose levels when my activity levels were high and were not on the higher end between Jan and April.

The Data Visuals- 6, 7, and 14 and their associated summaries from the report dashboard provide sufficient evidence for our project research question-5 (RQ-5), and it appears consuming different Diet formats did have an impact on my body’s energy levels or the magnitude of my high or low day activity levels.
