Midwest Elements
Midwest Elements is a consortium of universities campuses surrounding Midwest Kansas and Missouri
– Kansas City, Kansas, Kansas City, Missouri, Lawrence, Kansas, and Manhattan, Kansas
- a collaboration of partners of Frontiers CTSI.
Midwest Elements has accomplished successes in sharing data and infrastructure, such as
the cohort identification tools, streamlined research processes, producing effective advancements
in research, technology and health, and Acknowledging Equity, Improving Diversity & Revealing Inclusion
in Research to serve as models of the shared benefit of a multistate collaboration.

KUMC Research Administration

The University of Kansas Medical Center's mission is to improve lives and communities in Kansas and beyond through innovation in education, research and health care. At KU School of Medicine - Wichita, we educate tomorrow’s physicians and health care leaders through community partnerships to improve the health of Kansans. The division of Research Administration provides oversight for research at the University of Kansas Medical Center. The units within Research Administration provide support services including grant management, regulatory oversight, clinical trial budgeting, contract support and training.
KU School of Medicine - Wichita With Kansas in need of more physicians, the University of Kansas School of Medicine-Wichita opened in 1971 to provide hands-on clinical training to medical students in their third and fourth years. In 2011, KU School of Medicine-Wichita expanded to a full, four-year campus.

Kansas City University, founded in 1916, is a fully accredited, private not-for-profit health sciences university with Colleges of Osteopathic Medicine, Biosciences and a developing College of Dental Medicine. The College of Osteopathic Medicine is the sixth largest medical school in the nation, the ninth most impactful medical school in primary care for the nation, the tenth most affordable of private medical colleges, and a key educator of physicians, health professionals and scientists for both Missouri and Kansas. The College of Osteopathic Medicine has two sites strategically located on the University’s campuses in Kansas City and Joplin, Missouri, to address the growing needs of both urban and rural populations. The University offers multiple graduate degrees: a doctor of osteopathic medicine; a doctor of psychology in clinical psychology; a master of arts in bioethics; a master of science in biomedical sciences; a master of business administration in partnership with Rockhurst University; a master of public health in partnership with the University of Nebraska Medical Center; and plans to seat the first doctor of dental medicine students in 2023.
