This Data Set dives in the specifics of Robusta Coffee. It is a condensed data set that includes country of origin, owner and farm name, harvest year and a number of statistics on the coffee itself, ranging from aftertaste to flavor. With this information, further analyses can be done to determine the best robusta beans and their background.

Countries

This looks at the total count of all the countries listed in the data set.

India and Uganda are the most common country within the data set with Vietnam being the least common with only 1. Vietnam is the largest producer, so it is fascinating to see what other producing countries coffees offer in future analysis.

Flavor by Total Cup Points

This analyzes the flavor rating and the overall total cup point rating for the robusta coffee bean.

Flavor is one of the most important facets of coffee. If the coffee has poor flavor, chances are people will not enjoy this and the overall rating will be affected. From the visual, there seems to be a trend where this holds true as the higher the flavor rating, the higher total cup rating.

Average Total Cup Rating for each Country

This visual shows the overall average of each countries total cup points. Here we can see the coffee bean’s all have a relatively similar average. However, there is some variability due to some countries being more prevalent in the data than others, but as a whole the average is consistent and allows for further research into specific statistics.

Coffee Flavor by Total Cup Rating over the Years

The coffee beans are harvest in the years 2012 to 2017. In the visual 2013 and 2014 are the most popular harvested year. The trend from the previous visual where it showed the flavor by total cup rating holds a true relationship year by year. However in the year 2012, 2016 and 2017 there are a minimal instances to conclude.

There is a similar relationship to previous visuals, as higher the aftertaste, the higher overall cup rating. India was the only country to have a harvest year in 2015 and 2017 and Ecuador was the only country to harvest in 2016.
