How Many Students Across Colleges are First Generation and Are They Using Pell Grants?
Across U.S. colleges, about 46% are first generation college students, meaning they are the first in their families to go to college. Also, across the same colleges, roughly 48% are using their pell grants issued by their respective state. At a glance, it would make sense that first generation students are more likely to use pell grants, but there is no gurantee that this is the case in this situation.

Does Cost of Attendance Affect How Difficult It is to Get Into School? Does this Vary Among Types of Schools?
For now, ignore the duplicates all non-numeric categories on the
graph below until my skills get better. For reference, 1 = “Public,” 2 =
“Private,” and 3 = “Non-profit.” For public schools, the data indicates
a relatively unchanging trend between admission rates and the cost of
attendance. For private schools, the easier it is to get admitted, the
cheaper the school. It makes sense as “prestigious” private schools
would be less likely to lower their admission requirements. Lastly,
there isn’t too much data on non-profit colleges, but it follows a
similar path as public where the cost of attendance remains the same
across admission rates.
