Scorecard Description

The scorecard data provides great detail to help prospective post secondary students make informed enrollment decisions. College Scorecard provides data files with data about institutions as a whole and data files with data about specific fields of study within institutions. Some variable present in the data set are School ID, Institute Name, State Abbreviation, Admission Rate, Undergraduate Students, Cost for Attendance, etc.

Summary Statistics

In this summary of statistics, we can understand the National Average SAT Scores, Total UDGS, and National Cost For Attendance by Control. These statistics will help us better understand if private non-profit or public schools have higher SAT scores. This can give us an indication of which schools have overall smarter students, especially with the total amount of undergraduates at the school. Private non-profit schools have less undergraduate students than public school, yet they have a higher Average SAT Score. We can also infer that the cost for attendance is higher at private non -profit schools with higher National Average SAT Scores.
